in only three and a half games this year, he broke collarbone halfway through the fourth, weston hazelhurst JR, clinton, has 74 rushes for 611 yards, and 8 rushing touchdowns, thats an 8.26 yards per carry average and an average of 175 a game. hed have been close to around 1700-1800 yards for the season if he could have stayed healthy. i think he'll break 2000 easy if he stays healthy next year.

Marsalis Teague QB-Henry Co. 47-att, 835 yds ,17.8 ypc,13 TD's & 30-49 passing,523 yds,8 TD, 0 int. These stats are from about 3.5 games of actual playing time. He has been taken out at halftime because of blowouts. These numbers aren't as high as some but impressive none the least. The ypc is mind blowing!

I am unsure about the actual yardage but he had no interceptions going into the Brighton game, and he had none in that game, so that's the only area where I think you are wrong.

I wasn't sure about that because I thought he hadn't thrown one. After more research you are correct and I have edited my post. I got those stats from a link posted earlier. Tennessean Rushing Leaders (Middle Tennessee)

Im Sorry , i want to correct myself , Alcoas 6 backs have combined for 1601yds and 22 TD's. The leader being Jaron Toney with 520( 8TD's), then Taharin Tyson with 300(3 TD's), Cameron Foster with 200( 2TD's), that rounds out the top 3, and Freshman Vee Hembrick has already put up 198 Yds and 2 Td's. Seems pretty impressive to me , that we can get the ball off to that many people , can you name any other team in the state with 4 active backs with over 200yds on the season each?

"South RB lucky to touch it 10 times"

I seem to remember Fletcher gettin the ball over 30 times in Science Hill game LOL, and if you look at the stats and numbers of carries hes gotten alot time with the ball as well as being involved in the passing game, Hes a weapon NO DOUBT. South can be run heavy at times which thats what it takes to open the field up for the long ball. In this weeks game versus East South was really run happy but it was spread from back to back, I think every RB in Souths Depth chart ran the ball for us against East.

Fletcher Deffinatly has to be included amongst the best in NE TN, he gives us the WOW moment week in and week out. There is no telling the numbers he and Davenport could produce with full games, which they need to start doing getting close to playoff time. My guess is they will the next 3 weeks LOL.

FLETCHER HAS

10 carries for 45 in Johnson Co. (but huge in passing game)

14 carries for 116 in Central game

14 carries for 136 in Boone game

31 carries for 196 in Science Hill game

4 carries for 157!!! in Unicoi CO. game

Geeneville and East game didnt show individual stats but Fletch Had touchdowns in both.

region 3 4a has a few teams with similar numbers. clinton has 3 with over 200, weston hazlehurst(again hes only played 3.5 games) has 611 yards and 8 td's, the qb darian stone has 464 yards and 4 touchdowns in just 6 games and kyle martin has 182 yards and 3 touchdowns in 6 games, only 2.5 of which he saw significant action in. all three of them are averaging over 6 a carry, westons average is about 8.5. maryville has t. shuler with 695 yards and 9 touchdowns in 8 games, b. jones with 487 yards and 9 touchdowns in 8 games, p. juhlin with 311 yards and 2 touchdowns in 8 games plus 2 more with around 100 a piece and 3 combined touchdowns. halls also has two players with over 500 yards each, another with over 250 and a fourth with 150 so there are plenty of teams with that kind of production in region 3 4a.

also maryville's top 6 running backs have combined for 1722 yards and 24 td's so theyre just slightly ahead of you guys.

morristown east has 5 players with 200+ yards

just thought id name a few others who were close to or a little better than alcoa's production, not meant as a dis just stating the facts

    • RR, you might remember. Didn’t someone hide the kicking shoe that game? It seems I remember we had missed a kick the week before, and we needed all the points we could get. We thought we had a better chance going for two, so $?&@$ hid the shoe after the first miss that game. No one on our sideline looked for it very hard.
    • I will never forget the 1983 Heritage vs Maryville game. I remember driving home and listening to WGAP. Can't remember the announcers name. He asked Coach Story why he kept going for 2? Story told him " Why didn't you ask Renfro that last year"
    • TSSAA will let them all go to Mase.
    • Well nothing new, the Mustangs are really talented again this coming season!  They very well could go undefeated in regular season.  We shall see what happens in postseason.  I think the path to state title game is a little clearer than years past.  I think the Stangs are going to be really good and I think the traditional teams around in 2A are not going to be as strong.  It should be a fun season!
