Oh, I don't have any doubt that Chaz has been the best QB in the school's history (I believe Phillip Bates was good simply because of his athletic prowess as well).

I've never seen a Centennial team make such big plays on a regular basis. It's a relief, and I'm hoping Tony Kemp can continue that next year as well.

One guy alot of people at CHS are excited about is T.J. Leach. A freshman that has picked up alot of serious playing time at Safety, he will more than likely become the starting QB next season. He has the athletic ability of Chaz, but from what I hear this kid has a rocket for an arm. Many are already talking about what this kid at the QB spot. So even when Chaz leaves, Centennial fans have alot to look forward to in the coming years.

Yeah, he was playing at wideout last week, and I noticed his age and was impressed.

It'd be the smart thing to do. Look at how Chaz has progressed from his freshman season until now.

I've noticed him on the JV team this year as QB. He scores touchdowns by running around in circles in the backfield, makes everyone dizzy, and then takes off downfield.

On paper CHS there is no way CHS should play close to Franklin's level, But (and I predict) Franklin will allow CHS to stay in the game. If CHS is allowed to linger around long enough that you open the door for 1-2 plays to change the game (Kick return & turnover).

Has anyone ever heard of a "high percentage basketball shot"??? It usually is a shot which has two attributes 1) it has a high chance of success 2) it has a low chance of failure (or some other bad outcome). Franklin has one of the greatest "1-2-punches" in the state in the combo of Ford/ Lee. But Franklin seems addicted to making things as difficult as possible. Instead of playing "high percentage football", Franklin wants to play flashy/ fancy football (lower percentage football). By spreading the ball around and making things look fancy Franklin will keep this game closer than it needs to be. Why would anybody run a screen to Lee/ Ford, when handing the ball of is just as effective??? Only Franklin could find a way to waste a deadly backfield (for the second year in a row). I am telling everyone right now...CHS is going to destroy one of those flashy plays in the backfield for a quick (and cheap) six points

CHS's defense will not need to worry about stopping Lee/ Ford because Franklin will take care of that for them. I am sorry Lee/ Ford maybe if you played at Ravenwood/ Brentwood you would be playing for a State title in a month, but instead you will sitting at home.

On defense, two of Franklin's most over-rated players will once again fail to get the job done...Sellars & Gordon. Gordon has looked impressive between the tackles, but we will see what happens tomorrow when he has a TE hitting the seem for the consistent first down. If Franklin had a decent center fielder, then Gordon could play his game up front and not worry about the pass across the middle (but they dont) Ramsey Sellars has once again shown he is an over-rated disappointment at whatever position you put him in. And tomorrow night will be no different, he will not make the big hit, he will not make a crossing receiver "hear footsteps", he will come up short on a game changing play (must be a disease with the Strong Safeties at FHS). Because just when Franklin looses the only decent player in their secondary (Eric Brown), Franklin will need Sellars or Starnes to step-up and make big plays. But they will be M.I.A...I believe I labeled Franklin's secondary "hand-me-down", and CHS will validate another one of my predictions.

TOMORROW WILL BE A STATEMENT GAME FOR CENTENNIAL....JUST TRUST ME

Thank you for this. I will make sure that Alex, Keylo, Nick, and Ramsey see this in the morning. Real big of you to call out some 17 year old athletes.

After reading KingZ posts over time, it is becoming clear KingZ is a Franklin student to stir up Franklin by posting nonsense in support of opposing teams. These things happen on the boards all the time...they come and go and it is suppose to be self serving for Franklin. KingZ method of operation is posting ignorant rants against Franklin whomever Franklin is playing. It's getting old, ridiculous, boring, and desperate for Franklin to use their personal operative for motivation.

KingZ,

If you are not a part of Franklin High School, then please show some class and don't call out high school players. It is immature and dumb. If you are a part of FHS, then I think it's pretty weird that you would call out "your own" jsut to try to motivate them. Either way, your posts show absolutely no class.

lets hear some final thoughts/predictions for this game tonight

My Final Thoughts:

First off, Coach Matykiewicz, if you are reading this, the best of luck to you and I will see you at the game.

Secondly, for about five years now I've been bleeding two shades of blue and one shade silver. Each year Centennial goes into the Franklin game as a huge underdog and for the past four years has come out on the wrong end of the final score. To be completely honest with you I always had the biggest hope in the world that we would win but I never truly 100% believed that we could win. Everyone talks up how good Franklin is all the time and I had always gotten that in my mind that there was no way Centennial could win because that's what everyone had said.

This year is different. For the first time I truly believe that Centennial will win. There isn't a hope any more. It's a belief.

You can ridicule me all you want but I truly, 100% believe that Centennial will, for the first time in school history, find themselves on the right side of the score board at the end of the game.

For the first time the Centennial faithful will know the feeling of the Franklin grass under their feet as they storm the field in victory.

Tonight, all eyes are on Centennial and Franklin.

And tonight, THE STREAK ENDS!

    • Deja vu all over again, 7 yrs apart. SMDH Does anybody talk to each other?
    • OK, well, that’s because two quarterbacks can’t start. That’s football 101. The main quarterback won the starting job, so he was on varsity, and the Seymour transfer did not win the starting job. He played some varsity. He was mainly junior varsity, and he balled out when healthy, so for the starting quarterback who’s been starting varsity since his freshman year, if you have any form of proof that he’s gotten worse, somehow, whether that means stats or whatnot, please feel free to share.
    • They’ve both gotten worse. I’ve seen enough games to know that.
    • The only two transfers that Bearden has gotten that went on to play college football were a defensive back from Karnes, who transferred here way before the new coaching staff got here, and a running back from Carter, who went on to play at Maryville College. Both players received those offers while at Bearden, and both players got a diploma from Bearden High School. Therefore, they are Bearden kids, and you can’t do anything about that.   The transfer from Seymour didn’t win the job, what do you expect two quarterbacks to start at the same time? He played great on JV when he could stay healthy, and when he came in on varsity, he did great. The quarterback position is definitely going to be in good hands when the current starting quarterback leaves, but until then, they’re just going to be battling it out like every good quarterback competition does. The current starting quarterback has his flaws, and that is in the pass game, but what he doesn’t have flaws is running and scrambling, and if you go back and watch any game, which I’m sure you didn’t watch any, we used him very often, and when we needed a deep ball, we brought in the transfer from Seymour. The starting quarterback last year will be a senior this year, and the Seymour transfer will be a junior, so the Seymour transfer is definitely going to get his spotlight. He may even win the job this year. Football isn’t about who the newspaper thinks is the best kid. The best kid in the position will win the starting job, and I trust the coaching staff more than a newspaper or article to pick my starting QB.
    • I mean, we’ve only gotten two transfers that went on to play college football, one who went to UT Martin came his second semester junior year before the new coaching staff was here, and the other one went on to play at Maryville College, in which I don’t believe he had any interest prior to transferring.
