John Jenkins

This guy is coached by a guy that used to be a pretty good player in his day at Adamsville High School, Seth Massey. Massey held the state tournament record for a long time for most consecutive 3's with 8 so I like you would love to see John get a chance to break his coach's record.

Maybe Massey and Jenkins can have a long range shootout at their last home game of the regular season as a fundraiser.

1000 points in a year. That is remarkable.

Im still not impressed. No disrespect to the kid. Just was not impressed with him. There are a ton of kids out there that can score 40+ a game if that is the gameplan. I went to school with a kid that score over 50 many times, but shot under 25% for his career. woohoo.

I wish the Jenkins kid luck in every endeavor. And I hope you prove me wrong and become a star in the SEC.

I don't know the %...but I'll guarantee his shooting % is better (way better) than 25%. IMO, bad post gator... If he was at the hs you support you wouldn't have said this.

If there are tons of kids that can score 40+, in that gameplan (whatever that means)...Where are they? Its been 15 to 20 years since anyone has averaged 40+ in Tennessee.

As I said somewhere earlier in this thread. John Jenkins is shooting right around 60%. That, my friend, no matter how you want to hate on the kid, is unbelievable. This is not some ball hog running around, jacking up random shots. If you double team him, he plays for the offensive rebound and the fast break. If you run extra defenders at him, he beats you with his lighting quick and awkwardly high release. He is very smart and plays within what the defense is giving.

I wish him well, and it is sad to think the John Jenkins High School Experience is coming to close.

    • Dyersburg may win back to back to back championships. They are going to be hands down the best 3A team. Plus their District/region/sectionals are not very good. They basically just have to make it to region out of a 5 team district that has a few decent teams. South Gibson will be okay but they graduate their best player and there is nobody in the region 7 or region 8 who is going to compete with them.
    • I remember very well watching things change in the late 80's and yes it's all schools. Most people that are in charge today have any idea because they were raised and taught under this social experiment so they don't have a clue. Anyone that does see the truth for what it is usually try and hide it by blending in so that the School Gestapo doesn't round them up and take them to the Fuhrer ( kindly putting it ). Yes it is all schools not just Maryville. This train ride is not headed in a good direction and if the public had seen a movie of what's happening now back in 1980 everyone would have been headed home afterwards to change underware.
    • Hoping to make the playoffs.
    • You are so correct!  It’s really 99.9% of academia want to change to way that education is not only taught but the way it is viewed.  The pendulum has definitely swung as far to the left as possible and eventually will swing to the right much too far.  I have always  said that politics and one’s personal religious views need to stay out of education,  but for the last 40 years education has been running full throttle to what we have today.  If the social experiment that we are currently experiencing continues it is only a matter of time before the public school system in the USA completely collapses and all kids attend private schools or even worse don’t go to school.
    • He was a bruise but Aaron Dykes is HVA’s best RB ever.
