hey its football folks...i think if its students doing it they should let it go i mean when your home team is on defense thats the goal for the fans is to make as much noise as possible to try and help their team. the offense needs to learn to move on the hike and not the horn...what possibly would make you think you have to start playing at the sound of a horn?? now not allowing whistles is understandable because i know iv been to some games and heard whistles and think its the ref stopping play or something but air horns should be part of the atmosphere....let it go

Any body that's heading to the creekbank this week can get ready. The TC band plays continuosly while the opposing team is on offense.

Got to hand it to them, I've seen some long, sustained drives, and they will not quit playing.

Mike, I wonder if this ruling affects the train whistle up the road a couple of miles?

 

 

Take Portland for example. The train track sits right behind (maybe 20 yards) from the visitors bleachers. Plus, Portland has their own train horn that they blow on occasion. They usually only do it after big plays so it's not too bad.

That is illegal for them to do so. The game officials can penalize the team for the bands actions. The game administrators should do something about it as well.

 

And I don't like the airhorns either. Use your voice and hands to make noise to chear your team on.

The refs aren't consistent on enforcing the rule either.

 

You could also include the bands that continually play when they're not supposed to.

I think it should be like a huge party, fireworks, horns , cowbells, bandsplayingcontinuoslylikethisworddoes. People screaming,yellin,chanting, megaphones. LETS GET LOUD. Teams will adapt they're playcalling with sign language. It'll all work out.

So are you saying that you SHOULDN'T try to distract the other team by yelling and screaming?? Granted, I understand bands not playing, or air horns not being blown, but shakers? Come on now, that's part of football, basketball, baseball....EVERY sport. Distract the other team.

Something along the lines that no artificial noise makers are allowed. We had the announcement made Friday night as well.

 

 

i thought you were aloud to have artificial noise makers, as long as its an OUTDOOR event. because they're used in soccer all the time(air horns) and wouldnt that knock out the use of cowbells too?
