Yes it's uphill or even up a mountian for most of the small schools against Maryville,but since everyone is talking numbers.Greeneville has NEVER lost a playoff game on their turf,so something has to give

77, u have got to be kidding me. South would beat you guys 9 out of 10 games. It took a blocked kick, many mistakes on our part and a bad call TD for you to beat us. Not to mention those two horrible pass interference calls and the non TD call for us on 3rd down in OT #2. But, Friday was your night. Regions 1 and 2 were just about even from top to bottom. I still feel South was the best from regions 1 and 2, but we were looking ahead to Maryville. We would have given Maryville the better game. They will more than likely steam roll the Devils. Just move on and good luck vs. Maryville.

 

9 out 10? Now I think you are the one that's got to be kidding, considering Greeneville is 2-2 vs. South the last 4.

Not often I agree with one of the South faithful, but I certainly do after talking to some folks who were at the game.

 

Not taking anything away from the Devils, but they were extremely fortunate to win. That happens in football sometimes; it is why you play the game.

 

 

I would say, oh, 44-0.

And if South had won, they would have been "extremely fortunate", too.

 

Nah, I disagree. I don't think Greeneville will win by that big of a margin, but thanks for the vote of confidence!

That's great then, 'cause I still got 92 cans of spam leftover from my Y2K preparation. I was saving them for the imminent invasion by Japan, but someone told me yesterday that happened over 60 years ago. I'll bring a couple to the game. Can you pick up some bread and mayo, and maybe an urnion?

Maryville played Halls earlier this year winning 28-7. Halls dominated the 1st quarter. From that 1st quarter to now Maryville has improved a ton. Halls never recovered from that loss and went 4-6. In that game I saw the biggest crowd I ever saw at Halls. Most those people were there hoping Maryville would lose. Mark Packer predicted Halls to win that game.

 

 

Greeneville sounds like a very dangerous team. Greeneville has great skill players. But! Maryville has a great defense. Maryville has moved the ball well on offense but has fumbled several times. Defense has been the strong point for Maryville. West and Rhea scored their lone touchdown vs Maryville reserves. Cleveland scored 1 touchdown vs Maryville's 1st team. That was on a bomb. The other touchdown was against Maryville reserves. There is no doubt Greeneville will make some plays. They have great athletes. I just think Maryville's defense will limit their big plays.

 

When Maryville isn't fumbling they are explosive. Both quarterbacks can run or pass. Chris Jordan is a playmaker. Buddy Jones and Thomas Shuler make up a very good backfield. Offensive line has been very good. Offense will make enough plays to win this game 28-10

 

Look forward to the trip to Greeneville. I hope Greeneville fans show up in full force. I want a loud crowd. I hope Spanky shows up at Greeneville.

 

Ron-i'll be there!!!! i'm gona save my voice for all the "Move them Chains!!!!" and "Let the Kids Play!!!!" i can muster. i posted it this morning on the RCHS thread from last week: I apologize to anybody i offended but the best thing to do is don't sit close to me!! my terminally ill mother has requested that i "root for her!" my fanatical cheering is a vacation away from st. mary's hospice. anybody that knows me, knows that i love murvil!!!!! i alo have a vested interest in the murvil jrs. and srs. due to the fact that i coached them in middle school. as i stated on the other thread the word fan is from fanatic!!! LET"S GET IT ON!!!! GO RED REBELS

      Never in my life have I seen a team in a scrimmage against their own defense look so lost and confused. The defense didn’t look much better, the coaching staff can’t keep their anger together, not only with the players but also with their other coaches. I feel awful for those players. None of them look like they wanted or should’ve been out there, but for the grown men on the sidelines acting like fools, it's just embarrassing to the Farragut name and reputation. I now see why they chose not to live stream this on their YouTube channel.

      We could sure use some math teachers country wide. Ever go into a store or restaurant and the bill comes to $9.97 and you give them a ten dollar bill and 2 pennies because you wanted a nickle back and then the meltdown starts and the next thing two more people have to come and help figure it out and the place comes to a complete halt. I see this everyday and it's a sad representation of all these schools allowing these kids out the door to get shortchanged the rest of their life.

      I think it was expected. “Bad” luck I guess to get a couple difference maker QBs in the same class. I thought the decision was made a little early myself, but they were struggling offensively last year.  I assume the running quarterback alco had last year would be a senior this fall, and the transfer would start the following two years in addition to getting a ton of playing time this year. Maybe he waits two yrs, but I doubt it. The kid is good. So is the one who stayed.
