TSSAA needs to conduct an investigation into Mitchell's coaching staff, to see if they actually bet money AGAINST its own team!

(I'm just kidding, there, of course)

-------------------------------------------------------

Seriously though, Mitchell's coaching staff has got to be the laughing stock of all of the rest of Tennessee, for the way in which they have just GIVEN this game away via their MINDBOGGLING play-calling!!!!!!!

As for the Mphs area, Mitchell's coaching staff is to be commended for getting its team this far, BUT..........

They should be JAILED for their play-calling, however. It's a Class 1 FELONY!!!!!!!

Another point: Several boards on Coach T have posted about the lack of kicking games in inner-city Memphis schools. Another case-in-point today. Had it not been for failing to convert any PATs (attempted kick first one, then 2-point tries after that), Mitchell would have been at 28-21 instead of 28-18 and would have been driving for a tying touchdown in the final minutes.

Certainly, the Mitchell players have much talent and deserve to be led better. Here at Dyersburg, we were in front of Mitchell 28-21 at half but lost 41-35. We held Gibson to 45 yards on 15 carries. The entire Mitchell team ran 20 times for 62 yards on the ground. (Unfortunatey, Redmond and Malone killed us--373 yards passing.) Mitchell is a young team with a bright future. They deserve better leadership.

Now it is over. Catholic wins 28-18. Picked it off with 54 seconds left. Congrats Catholic, there is one more to the east.

Congratulations Knoxville Catholic.

Excellent season Mitchell.

KC earned its victory today, despite the COMPLETE & TOTAL backward-ness (for lack of a better word) of Mitchell's offensive play-calling! You see, KC still had to take advantage of what Mitchell's staff gave them.

KC did precisely that....and then some!

Excellent, well-executed game on KC's part!

Mitchell was KILLING David Lipscomb on the ground last year in the semi's...then would START passing.....If it isn't broke...DON"T FIX IT.....It would be scary if those kids had some REALLY good coaching....Great talent at Mitchell...

After thinking about Mitchell's coaching staff's MIND-BOGGLING play calling.....I finally thought of a word that MIGHT come close to describing that whole fiasco:

Self-Sabotage!

--------------------------------------------------

I'm very interested to read the thoughts of others, who saw this game, concerning Mitchell's offensive play-calling.

I mean.....am I being unfair to Mitchell's coaching staff?

What?

Interesting point about the score....

Your 2nd thought just underscores a simple, strait-forward principle: If it ain't broken, don't fix it!

Mitchell had passing success vs Dyersburg. Apparently, they continued (and rightfully so) it. Good job.

----------------------------------------------------------------------

Mitchell ran the ball AT COMPLETE WILL vs KC......yet, they got cute & impatient. Inexplicably, they went away from what was working (the run) & started passing the dang ball.

The result: A loss in the 3A Championship game--a game that was very much winnable, on Mitchell's part!!

Exactly, IMO MM deserves better coaching with talent level of players they have.. find a kicking game ,learn that the objective is to win each game with Discipline in play calling is also needed from coaching staff as well as players on field.

Congrats KC on a super year, discipline, sportsmanship for all involved. Coaching wins out !
