He did...and he was. That is WHY the game is over.

No... he didn't and he wasn't...

What's the deal? Your kid not get enough playing time?

You should be happy... the coach that you hate resigned and is no longer there... you should be rejoicing, partying, and planning your timetable for bashing the next coach that's hired at Fairview HS

I truly do not understand posts which make no sense. We keep a coach another year and then decide to let him go. Does not make any sense at all....

What occurred is simple. The principal and the coach were not in agreement on several points one of which appears to be related to hiring staff members. Based on the facts presented this was the biggest sticking point which lead to the resignation of the coach. These types of issues do occur and FVHS must move forward.

To be-labor an old washed out issue does no one any good. If bloggers feel the need to continue negative posts of personal attacks that is their business. Based on all other blogger's posts the majority opinion is; it is disappointing this had to occur but best of luck to FVHS and Coach Whitefield.

Go jackets.

There is also no mention of the Middle school coaches at East Hickman and Fairview being buddies with the AD at Nashville Christian either and attempting a coup with any 8th grade football players moving to Nashville Christian, but that happened too.

Ease off babe......or it will all blow up real good!

I would say before this is over outgoing TSSAA leader Ronnie Carter will have another Brentwood Academy type incident to deal with along with some Melrose coaching type suspensions.......

Where did Nashville Christian get thrown into the equation? I haven't seen that anywhere but in your post.

I believe he was talking about East Hickman's Middle School Coach going to coach at NC next year and getting his own bus route that will run from his place around east hickman to Nashville Christian. Not really sure why this was brought up but I believe this is why it was brought up about east hickman.

I do not believe that for a minute. There is no way the coach at East Hickman ( I know his name but do not want to say it if this not true) would do this to East Hickman High School and Coach Jones, and more importantly, the kids of East Hickman. He has more class than this. I can see someone taking a job if it will better him and their family, but to take a job that will pull the kids from his home school AND drive the bus to do it?? No way.

    • I've caught a few games this year. We have a decent team.   I'm hoping this group can qualify for state.
    • Pirates baseball team is region 3 champs.  Host sectional Wednesday.   Go Pirates!!
    • I am interested in seeing how much they progress in year two under Fitz myself. I do believe they will improve but how much will be the question.
    • Pirates can make a run at the dance for sure.
    • I've always been a football fan first and then if you have a band that's awesome. No question that DB has one of the best bands in the country and the whole region should attend at least one DB game just to see their band. I don't know if Nick Saban could come to Kingsport and build a football program that could match the Dobyns Bennett band's success. That said,as mentioned before, a couple of things would have to change in order for the Tribe to just win a state championship on the field.Besides a program that starts from the peewee teams and goes all the way to J Fred with all coaches and weight training { in time }on the same page. Sometimes it also takes a little luck like the 1998 Vols .There are a lot of great athletes at a lot of big schools around the state and just because you want something doesn't mean your going to build a program like Alcoa has. Yes,start at the bottom and have guys that are quality coaches teaching at every level is 100% the first step. Parents can make it a lot easier by getting their young athletes into an early start with conditioning and weights as well when they are old enough to lift.If your son is a man in the weight room before he gets to DB , then it won't take a "Dobbs" coach to make him competitive against other schools athletes when it comes to strength.
