Shelbyville's Deonta Twilley was ejected tonight in a game vs. Lawrence County for throwing an elbow on a player who had just committed a foul against him. Twilley will now be suspended for two games...including the 8-AAA Championship and 1st round region game.

I think Twilley deserved a technical foul for throwing the elbow, but I thought ejecting him was too much! Any thoughts on this from those that saw it?

I sat directly behind where it happened on the floor and there was NO connection. The LC player had Twilley in a bear hug for a good 2-3 seconds BEFORE the ref blew his whistle. Call a double foul if you must, must ejection was way overboard. Very sloppy calling on both ends of the floor. Keep your heads up Eagles, this can only make you stronger.

well i'am neutral in all this but i didn't think he should have been ejected

but the real problem tonight was the guy(who i think was from lincoln or coffee co)walked in front of the shelbyville bench and treatened all the coaches

luckily a tullahoma policeman quickly got the idiot out of the gym before he got attacked by shelbyville fans

plus the tullahoma administration during the altercation was promtly sitting on there butts when everyone was fighting

Man, thats it. Im going to the 8-AAA tourney next year. 7-AAA is about as dull as a bad knife.

The game had been a little agressive on both side most of the game. Remember, Emanuel Andrews also got a Technical because he said something to the official. Coach Burkey on the girls game had also gotten a technical so emotions in the gym were high. The ejected fan was from Coffee County I believe. Thanks to the quick thinking Shelbyville administration, he was escorted out by Tullahoma police despite still running his mouth all the way out.

I saw the Twilley incident. I will say this. The Lawrence County players had been aggressive all night with no calls. Twilley's defender had him in a bear hug after the play had been ruled dead. There had been a Lawrence County foul just prior to that and play stopped. The Lawrence County player continued to embrace him and Twilley tried to pull his arm off of him and in the process swung that elbow a little much. I think it should have been a Technical but not ejection. The game had been building up all night and I think the officials just ejected him to cover their rears in case it escalated. (See Shelbyville at Coffee County).

was at game... don't know what was seen or not seen.. but the law. co. player was called for the foul, then the contact was made... definite contact was made... have a son that was on the floor right next to the play and there was contact.

as for the ejection.. don't agree that he should have been ejected or not.. definitely a tech foul.

both teams were playing their hearts out.... overall the score a the end (a ten point win) does not show the true story of the game.

good luck to both teams as they continue their seasons.

Not sure how you can say Lawrence county players were aggressive with no calls, at one point in the game the fouls were 9-4 in favor of Lawrence County. As for the incident with Twilley, yes the Lawrence county player fouled him and there was a foul called on him but Twilley did make contact with him and after the game he had to be checked by a trainer to make sure he didn't have a concussion. Lawrence county was not anymore aggressive than Shelbyville was. Anyway good game by both teams and good luck to both on Tuesday night.

If the official considered the elbow to be purposeful then it is considered fighting and it is a technical foul and an automatic ejection. If there was only one technical reported then this is probably what happened. In any other case there has to be two technicals to be ejected.

Agree. By the way, 2 of 3 officials in this game were involved in ejection of Tullahoma player night before at Franklin Co, in an incident where a hard foul was committed but not maliciously. Must be point made during some meeting, because I haven't seen 2 players ejected like this without an outright fight in some time.

    • Wow I haven't been keeping up with softball had no idea.Been keeping up with baseball and we are slowly fading there.I will check it out!!Thx
    • It is what it is. Sorry DFL.
    • One of the biggest loosing teams in Mid-State are the Macon County Tigerettes. I have noticed that the roster is smaller than in the years past. All the senior's have quit. We have a great group of Jr High players coming up. I sure hope they don't loose them, like they have lost so many others this year. With this young group of girls coming up, a weaker district, they should have no problem going to State.
    • It was updated this season, because I did it.  Linder is the school's all-time leading rusher at 5,156 yards with 2,436 of those coming in 2014.
    • Oh, I’m sure you did. Maybe you heard just a rumor, but considering we have a football practice field and a soccer field that’s frequently used for lacrosse games and practices, I highly doubt it. Let me change that. I know for a fact that didn’t happen.   Glad you finally stopped attacking a bunch of high school students, but still obsessed with the coaching staff for some unknown reason, even though you could name more than three (at most) coaches without looking it up. But now come up with something else.
