It is interesting that no one is mentioning female coaches. A number of them were on the radar the past two years and the group has disappeared. I'm sure they are still there but who are they.

Look out for Ashley Johnson

Player:

Shelbyville

Ole Miss

Head Coach:

Lebanon Devilettes

I agree! He is an excellent coach. Young, with alot of enthusiam and energy. Has back to back, twenty win seasons. Oh and I forgot to mention four of his starters are returning and that three of his starters are sophomores, and he has three young freshmen with so much potential. Sky is the limit for the lionettes, goodluck in the offseason and next season as well.

Go Lions!!!!

He was doing the same thing in Smith County as well when he was there. Great Coach! Good luck to him and his team next season.

Corey Barrett took over a struggling Hickman County Girls program two years ago....the first year they won eight games in the regular season but with great post-season play made it to the sub-state game against Creekwood....this past season the Lady Dawgs posted 18 wins and finished tied for second behind Marshall County....had a few tournament struggles that ended their season during region play but made great strides nontheless.....gets the absolute most out of the talent that he has on the team.....

That team was handed to her. Time will tell the whole story.

Kind of like Phil Jackson when he went to Los Angeles, the pieces have been at Hillsboro but when Katrina Carter got there she was able to put them together. No disrespect to Coach McGill ,but the Lady Burros have had great teams in the past but I think this 1st year interim coach was the missing piece.Winning the AAA state title in her 1st year as a high school interim coach says a lot. That is the whole story. If she doesn't get the job permanently, she should be in demand for a good posistion somewhere.

Is that Matt Miller at Culleoka? Wasnt he the head boys coach at Richland a few years back?

Yes RedDevil. That is the same coach. he has done a fairly good job with very little talent. He has brought a team from 1 or 2 wins to 5 wins with nothing. He doesn't have a scorer or a point guard, but he has gotten the most out of his players.

    • Well nothing new, the Mustangs are really talented again this coming season!  They very well could go undefeated in regular season.  We shall see what happens in postseason.  I think the path to state title game is a little clearer than years past.  I think the Stangs are going to be really good and I think the traditional teams around in 2A are not going to be as strong.  It should be a fun season!
    • I would not put too much stock into the UH over Eagleville. From what I understand they were pretty banged up in that tourney. Catcher was out, they were throwing pretty deep in their bullpen and a few key players were beat up in their infield. Sounds like they are pretty healthy heading into the district tournament. Look at their schedule, they played some really good teams.
