Who pitched?

Cooper and he pitched absolutely terrific...took a one-hit 3-0 shutout into the seventh (the hit was an infield slow roller). They could never really touch him, but they did foul off a ton of pitches. Therefore, his pitch count was over 130 when he was pulled after four straight balls to the first batter in the seventh. I think most people did not realize that and assumed he should have just kept on throwing because he was so dominant. After that, the Shelbyville bullpen imploded and walked five more batters in a row, including a hit batter. Basically gave it away.

After watching the district games in Tullahoma last night I can only add one remark relative to the site. The district baseball tournament should never be moved from Tullahoma because of the condition of the field and especially the stands. The fans can watch a game and never have to worry about getting wet beacause the stands are covered. The Tullahoma stadium is one fine institution to hold a tournament and it should always be there. The stadium brings back many memories.....

I do agree the field looked good under the circumstances, but the lighting is poor. many bulbs are out and for a short time the field was very dark. Those are your memories not others. But T-town is a nice place to play ball and they are doind a great job.

so...on thursday both sites will play and then we go to the highest seed? to play the championship?

Because we are 'doubling up' on Thursday now, the game will be at either Blackman or Riverdale since those fields will already have been in use for the 4:00 games and teams are here at those sites. The game will be played at the original site (Blackman or Riverdale) of the higher seed.

By far the worst officiating i have ever seen at the lebanon oakland game. oakland can say what they want but they didnt deserve to win that game. how hard is it to get decent umpires that make good calls both ways? the ones out there tonight were a JOKE!

Typical. No credit to the boys that went out there and played hard, all the blame on the officials.

You were probably one of the guys up in the press box showing your rear about the umpires at the Lebanon/Oakland regular season game in Lebanon. That was an embarrassing display, and I'm starting to wonder if it is a trend among Lebanon fans.

How can you blame a game on the umpires when your players made the errors???

When you all played here last month or so, yall were up by 4 or so and blew the game by giving up the hits and errors.

Are you going to say umpires blew that game too?

Now I wasn't there but to blame all the games on the umpires is a joke on your part.

Next.

I also agree that Tullahoma has the best all around facilites to host the 8 AAA tournment. The lighting does need some work. The field for the players to play on is a great place to play. For the fans having the covered grandstand, a good concession stand and good rest rooms makes it a great place to hoist the tourney. The problem I see about Grider Stadium is Tullahoma is to occoupied with the new football stadium and letting a true gem of a baseball stadium crumble away. I hope they wake up before its to late for Grider!

Always enjoyed playing the tournament at Tullahoma, short trip from Manchester and usually play well there. I will agree the lighting was poor last night. But the concession stand I have a complaint about. And let's give Tullahoma the benefit of the doubt and say the concession stand wasn't prepared because they didn't expect to host part of the tournament - BUT, I watched a CC player, after the first game with Tullahoma, ask for a hot dog - they didn't have any ready. He asked for a cheeseburger - no cheese there. He asked for a hamburger - they didnt' have any ready. Pizza - none of that either. And I didn't see this first hand but my buddy was at the concession stand between those games and said a lady brought back a chicken sandwhich with blood visibly running out of it so.. yea .......... That sounds tacky all things considered. I think coach White and crew did a good job getting the field ready to play, infield was solid, outfield was wet but what can you expect after the flood of 2009. Would like to see some lights replaced, though .... See everybody again tonight.

I agree there was a problem with the concession stand last night ; the reason for this was the booster club sold all remaning food off because they were not planning to have anymore high school games. They went out and bought more and sold it out before the 4th inning. I know they went out and bought more at that time to make through the 2nd game. Hopefully things will run much smoother tonight.

Congrats to Coffee Co. They really stepped up last night. Looks like CC and Lawrence Co. are starting to swing the bats at the best time. Also what about that freshman pitcher coach white put on the mound last night. Goodluck to all 8 AAA teams the tournment is shapeing up to be a good one!!!!

I was at the game and there was a few close calls but im not sure i know of one that cost you the game..there was a close play at third after one of your guys popped it up to the 1st baseman and it was close to a double play however he was ruled safe and i think you had 1 maybe 2 outs and Lebanon didnt get the run in and that was alte in the game so what play are you talking about that you guys got ripped and it cost you the game also there was another play that went in your favor that several who wasnt for either team thought should have gone the other way. and yet oakland still won despite those 2 calls.

wow been a long time since we played...we had another good overall game tonight...our defense played really well and our bats did enough led by Austin Swayze he had 2 RBIs and got the base hit to lead to our first score of the night we won 5-1 Chris Ophanos pitched a good game alowwing back to back doubles in the 5th for their only run. GREAT game by the WARRIORS and now we play oakland tomorrow at 630 at RIVERDALE

    • Why? Low pay. Low budget thanks to the Rotary milking the programs revenue. Foul smell. There are other negative things... Positives: the players and being toward the top of the classification numbers wise.
    • What we have here is an influx of outsiders raining down on the town of Maryville like a swarm of locust trying to change our culture into the same crap they moved away from. I have no issues with anyone coming here but don't bring your politics with you. Most people around here never pay attention to the elections and keep letting the same ole rats and vermin right back in the back door and wonder why things are like they are. The problem at Maryville High is mainly due to letting outsiders get a foothold on control and shove their agenda down everyone's throat. Anyone that leaves there or let's say ranoff are replaced with an outsider with the same mindset. Eventually Maryville High will never be the same as it once was which I'm beginning to believe already but it's only chance of survival are to recruit people that will get in there and reverse the damage that has already happened.
