District 11A! New Champion this season?

The CA/Richland game felt like a consolation game instead of what could have been a championship game. Both teams seemed to think, "Why bother." These were the two teams picked to win it all and could have been a truly exciting game. But instead it was ho-hum until the end when CA tried to flip the switch. But couldn't and went from first to fourth.

 

As for Mt. Pleasant/Culleoka, I think Mt. Pleasant set the tone early and then shifted to cruise control. Unfortunately for Culleoka the damage was done. Mt. Pleasant relied heavily on their athletic advantage. Many times after Culleoka made a basket, Mt. Pleasant had the ball out of the net and up the floor quickly. In the end, Mt. Pleasnat showed that they were overlooked at the season's end while Culleoka showed they weren't ready to relinquish the title without a fight.

 

As for region, I am sure this thread will be blown up by 12A supporters; however, they might not want to speak to quickly. It seems talk is cheap around here. All the talkers are falling and short and the winners suddenly start popping up saying told you so. Let's wait til Sunday morning (or late Saturday) before we start making sure fire locks.

I would love to see this also but I can't see it happening. CA looked like they were ready for it to be over last night.

 

MTP set the tone early, too bad the refs started calling "over the back" in the 4th and not the 1st. Give Cully some credit though, they were down 18 when the 4th started and pulled it back to 9 with 3 and a half minutes left but ran out of gas. I think they can get a win at home Saturday night but after that....I don't know. Not strong enough inside to really contend.

cullypride, thought the same thing about CA. They just looked like a team ready for their season to be over.

 

Mt Pleasant had a good gameplan. Push the ball down court and not let Cully turn it into a halfcourt game. Once it got to the 4th qtr. Slatten did the only thing he could. Foul and hope MP missed enough free throws so they could get back into the game. Thought it was going to work for awhile.

if CA comes to play, then they can play with anybody. and could cause a huge upset. but if they really don't want to be playing, then it could get ugly.
