We were in Jamestown about 1 month ago for youth football. Construction "debris" fence was stretched from end to end of the bleachers, they only have one side, about 6 rows up. They the small "baseball" bleachers, probably 7-8 sets, placed around the field. Didn't ask specifics, but the rumors seem to be true. Field, up there, had suffered like everyones through this season. If the footing is dangerous and a more safe alternative is available , then YAI should consider a move.

So if York has no bleachers...Let's go to TECH!!!!

Queenie....Heard today that this has been mention to the York people. Also heard they ain't having none of it.

Just spoke with a friend in Jamestown and they know nothing about the bleacher/stadium rumor, I was up there Thursday but didnt have time to stop and see had to head on to Crossville. BUT .. my guys are going back on Monday and I've given them a mission. Could be the whole rumor of the state of the stadium is an urban legend, much like Termie Darlin himself !!

As for the Thursday night visit to Gville, well well .. glad to have you, come back anytime, and you really should try the food and drink, they might have something special just for you!! And from what I understand you weren't the only person with a weapon at the game ...

go Owls ..

Now bluebellz, next time Termite comes to Gordonsville,, you must be nice and taste test the food to make sure he ain't poisoned!!! I admit it would have helped if he had not had a SC hat on... but I commend his courage!!!! Glad to see him back on... worried might have gotten the H1N1.. Please post on here when ya hear about the bleacher situation.. Need to know if I should take my chair!!!

Wow this thread is dead.....Where is Asby from York and Antwan with the rest of the Lucky Hackett Nation???

CS003_LUCKY_CHARMS.jpg

PaintedBridge.......Lucky Hackett Nation ???? I can only assume you are speaking on this because of our/your one and only Josh Hackett. The problem is, I think you have him mixed up with the Lucky Charms guy. I thought he was on the Wizard of Oz. Wasn't he in the Lollie Pop Guild???

We'll probably pick it up a little later on in the week. I mean after all, it's hard to contain all the excitement about going to.........ahem.........Jamestown.

Hahahahahaha now why do you two have to get on here and pick on me?? That's just not right! It is funny, but not right! :thumb:

Bleacher situation... 5 rows of the regular bleachers are still useable, then they have about 5 portable stands on one side near the entrance for visitors, and they have added about 5 more at the opposite end of the field behind the upright. Be plenty of places to set. And, as for the game, look for York to try and keep the streak alive. I know some of the players, and they have been looking forward to this one. Neither has played close to their potential this year, and with injuries on both sides, this one is going to be closer than every SC fan thinks. Just don't expect to come down to BuggyTown and walk away with anything less than a dogfight. See ya in 4

Nurseypoo...... I have way too much fun at a G-ville game (of any kind). They wouldn't poison me. They have as much fun as I do. BUT, some might want to exterminate Termite. For example, I believe my good friend Blubelz said us people on this side of the river don't OWN anything over there. Well, where is the Gordonsville Junction?? I know where the Carthage Junction is.

I may still take a chair, and get there early Friday. Reckon they would let me take a 12 foot step ladder and set it up? How bout a tree stand somewhere?

H1N1?? How did you know?? You must be a dang good nures if you can tell that without seeing me.Well really, it was just a cold.

Closer than every SC fan thinks? Sorry, I don't think the "we are the underdog, no one respects us" theme is going to work this year. Everyone knows this will be a slugfest. You guys have won three in a row against us and were ranked in the top ten this year. I believe we can play the underdog role this year.

Thanks YAI1979.........It don't sound as bad as I thought. But SC usually travels well, and there should be a good crowd, but some may stay away because of the situation, so who knows..

I'm not sure about York's living up to their potential, but SC has had games where they looked very good, and some where they looked bad. SC's guys are looking towards this one too. Nobody has beat this bunch 3 times, much less 3 times in a row.The Srs would like to end 3-3 with York after 4 years.

Your right, this will probably be a fight.

Who's said that we're trying to play that card? I'm simply stating that every post in this thread has been SC will win if they even show up halfway decently. By no means do i believe it will be a blowout. just simply saying that don't expect our boys to roll over. They'd love more than anything to end SC's chances at Champs just as your boys would love to win it over ours. And Term, let's just hope that "fight" stays between the whistles.

I don't see anyone predicting a blowout, and if they are they should not. Smith Co. York is almost always a close game. The truth is, if the owls play like they did vs. Westy, CC, and parts of some other games they will lose, if they play with the intensity of the games vs. White House or Dekalb IMO they will win.

    • Deja vu all over again, 7 yrs apart. SMDH Does anybody talk to each other?
    • OK, well, that’s because two quarterbacks can’t start. That’s football 101. The main quarterback won the starting job, so he was on varsity, and the Seymour transfer did not win the starting job. He played some varsity. He was mainly junior varsity, and he balled out when healthy, so for the starting quarterback who’s been starting varsity since his freshman year, if you have any form of proof that he’s gotten worse, somehow, whether that means stats or whatnot, please feel free to share.
    • They’ve both gotten worse. I’ve seen enough games to know that.
    • The only two transfers that Bearden has gotten that went on to play college football were a defensive back from Karnes, who transferred here way before the new coaching staff got here, and a running back from Carter, who went on to play at Maryville College. Both players received those offers while at Bearden, and both players got a diploma from Bearden High School. Therefore, they are Bearden kids, and you can’t do anything about that.   The transfer from Seymour didn’t win the job, what do you expect two quarterbacks to start at the same time? He played great on JV when he could stay healthy, and when he came in on varsity, he did great. The quarterback position is definitely going to be in good hands when the current starting quarterback leaves, but until then, they’re just going to be battling it out like every good quarterback competition does. The current starting quarterback has his flaws, and that is in the pass game, but what he doesn’t have flaws is running and scrambling, and if you go back and watch any game, which I’m sure you didn’t watch any, we used him very often, and when we needed a deep ball, we brought in the transfer from Seymour. The starting quarterback last year will be a senior this year, and the Seymour transfer will be a junior, so the Seymour transfer is definitely going to get his spotlight. He may even win the job this year. Football isn’t about who the newspaper thinks is the best kid. The best kid in the position will win the starting job, and I trust the coaching staff more than a newspaper or article to pick my starting QB.
    • I mean, we’ve only gotten two transfers that went on to play college football, one who went to UT Martin came his second semester junior year before the new coaching staff was here, and the other one went on to play at Maryville College, in which I don’t believe he had any interest prior to transferring.
