1A Playoffs. TSSAA got it wrong.

First off, how does MTCS get a higher seed than Gordonsville. Both were the top finishers in 1A in their districts, and the tiebreaker should go to Gordonsville with the most overall wins.

And, even worse, how does Clay Co. get left out of the playoffs, TSSAA's website has them as an automatic qualifier if Friendship beat Monterey, and they did. Clay Co. finished second of the 1A teams in Region 4. They should be in.

If I was David Maxfield and "Moose" Marshall, I'd be throwing fits right now.

Talk about wrong...They didn't even mention the quad with Union City and Huntingdon...They went through them again and STILL didn't mention the match-ups...The Wayne County-Collinwood game has NO bearing on the Far West Tennessee Quad....

Well I am still trying to figure out the unknown bracket. 2 teams from one district and 4 from another. If you can't play a team from your same district in the first round then that means that Jo Byrns will have to be a 3 or lower seed since they are in the same district as McEwen which only had two teams make it. That is about as messed up as Clay County getting hosed on making the playoffs.

Just a reminder the "Road to the BlueCross Bowl" is a program produced out of Murfreesboro and in conjunction with Murphy Fair. With that being said they will focus primarly on that region. Which totally leaves out the hidden gems of Class A football "West of I-65". I sometimes wonder if Murphy has ever wandered west of I-65 in any class of football. Because he only focuses on Eastern Middle Tennessee and East Tennessee. I think he forgets that Tennessee does not at Nashville.

Murphy Fair worked at The UC Daily Messenger way back in the day...Looks like he would have wondered why Union City wasn't being mentioned...Wasn't like they weren't a #1 seed or anything...

The worse thing is that they left Clay Co. completely off.

Their coach should be having a fit right now.

He is Croz. I talked to him about thirty minutes ago, and we can't figure out if head to head doesn't mean anything these days or what. If I'm not mistaken Monterey should have Sunbright's spot travelling to Coalfield and that Clay should have Monterey's spot going to Eagleville.

Well they already had a scenrio where they have five teams in from one district and had to have two in the same district play in the first round. It would be absolutely unfair for a 10-0 team to be less than a number two seed

    • No reasonable lawyer would take up this case. I am not a lawyer, but I know school law in and out.  Similar situations just like this play out thousands of times each year across the country, even at the college level (i.e. Ole Miss)  The Plaintiff's never win...ever.  If I am wrong, please provide a legal precedent for me. I will be waiting.  https://www.espn.com/college-football/story/_/id/39431892/judge-drops-ole-miss-player-lawsuit-lane-kiffin
    • Yes Justin Cruse was named head coach
    • It used to be, I think it still is, a change of 20% +/- gives reason to reclassify. Schools can choose to play up classifications but not down. Here is the mid cycle reclassification info on TSSAA.org When Memphis East changed from a regular public school to an "all-optional" school in 2017 the would've dropped to A but chose to stay in AAA in basketball (baseball, and softball) Penny was still coaching there and with the players they had they would've beaten A teams by 40 and slept walked to the championship. Other Memphis schools stayed in their classifications (mostly in basketball) until the next reclassification cycle. Of course this is the same time that a 4th class was added basketball.
