What is with the "Newless Journal" this week and it giving no love to Oakland? R'dale got two articles in two straight days and Oakland NONE. While I am pleased that R'dale is getting good press, they will NOT be alone on the field Friday night.

 

Thats ok. We are just so lucky that Riverdale is going to let us play on their field. We know the game is just a mere formality, but were just happy to be here. I hope we do not embarass ourselves too badly

 

Oakland doesn't need any press...there to busy reading there press clippings from last year!!

and who were the power house teams they played?????Mt Juliet?.....lol

Correct me if i'm wrong but didn't Riverdale have trouble stopping MJ's offense in their scrimmage game this year? And MJ's offense made a huge improvement on the O as the year went on. So for Oakland's D to only allow 14 to MJ and shut out 4 others is something to get excited over. 14-10 Oakland

 

Excuse me!! I was at that scrimmage....you failed to mention how many scores Riverdale had and how many score MJ didnt have!! I know your scorned with your loss to Oakland and your hoping for an Oakland win so you can somehow think your a better team than you are but lets face it, MJ can't hold the jocks of Riverdale or Oakland!!

I must have been misinformed then because the word was that MJ beat Riverdale at Wilson Central. Varsity and fresh. Didn't Hendersonville also beat you. The same Hendersonville team that lost to MJ.

yes we lost to hendersonville...like i said we are lucky to be here!!!!we hope that we can keep things close with oakland we dont want to be embarrassed by the defending state champs...I do not know if we are better than Mt Juliet but to be honest it doesnt matter at RIVERDALE we are trying to avoid what happened to MJ in the first round to us I do not want our players to turn in their equipment yet i would like them for 3 more games(2 more after this week)

I wish luck and congrats to both teams for advancing this far into the playoffs. I was only defending the rediculous statement that was made with the jockstrap which was from Larry Holmes about Rocky Marciano in the 80's. I really don't care who wins just think Oakland wins in a close one.
