I just hope our skinny little guys can keep it interesting for the fans. Even scoring would be a huge moral victory. We can all hope for the best though.

Go Warriors!!

Well if it gets really bad we can always play the cheer leaders! Hopefully they still know the plays. :thumb:

Better yet: Oakland posters v. Riverdale posters :D

That would be fun!

Bottom line this game will be decided in secondary. Both teams lines are solid but both secondarys has diffrent task at hand. Oakland must stop the pass and Riverdale must help in run support. Oakland said the line of Riverdale flat out whipped them so they will have their ears pinned back. So it will be RB's on second level of defense and Riverdale DB's must tackle. Diffrent kind of football played here in Rutherford county cause these kids know each other and they want this one more than anything. Both teams can run the table from this game BECAUSE of the BATTLE OF THE BORO. I'm RIVERDALE ALL THE WAY BUT ALSO KNOW THIS IS BIG TASK FOR BOTH TEAMS !

This game will be one for the ages. I think it will come down to the final snap to determine the winner. I say Oakland comes from behind and takes this one with a sure-footed Trevor Hornsby field goal with 3 seconds on the clock. Hornsby has been MONEY and knows how to kick under pressure-packed situations and environments. My wish is that no one suffers any injuries in this one as it will be the most physical challenge ever. We both know that it is really hard to play two real emotional games back to back and Riverdale had one last week with Blackman. I think that also gives us the edge. That and the REVENGE factor.

GO WARRIORS!!!!!I AM SOOOOOOOOOOOOO EXCITED FOR THIS GAME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

does it really get any better than RIVERDALE vs oakland...I was thinking today for how much things change they stay the same...when i played at RIVERDALE we ran a wing T we had a lot of athlete with some good size...when we played oakland they had some athlete and good size and had a power running game....we had to stop their rushing attack to beat them back then it was rendell or russel hugle to the left or to the right and then up the middle...now they still have a running attack that oyu have to stop to win...i think that we shall prevail today like we did back in my days (at least my fresh and soph years lol my class went 2-2 against oakland)

Just another game for Oakland today. They have to go in thinking that and focus on the task at hand, not revenge. Obviously this game is all about the Battle in the Trenches, but Oakland has to maintain balance on offense and stretch the field. Last time, we had a chance to put some distance bewteen us and Riverdale and failed to capitalize.

Tonight, you guys will play in one of the toughest enviroments that you can possibly play in. They can have the chop or any fancy slogans that they wish to coin, but you have a mass contingent of Patriots fans, parents and alumni in your corner, and that is all that you need. But time after time these last 2 years, you guys have answered the bell, especially at home. Forget about the first game, that was just a knockdown, not a TKO. You guys have thrived on the road all year long, and have done it very well in the playoffs as well, lets continue that tonight.

Most of all, remember this game for what it is, a game that you love. Yeah all the hoopla, trash talking, rankings and all that, this is a boy's game, you play it because you love it. Some of you guys will go on to play at the college level, alot of you will not, but above all, play it for the love of the game. That is what tonight is about.

GO PATS!

    • They’ve both gotten worse. I’ve seen enough games to know that.
    • The only two transfers that Bearden has gotten that went on to play college football were a defensive back from Karnes, who transferred here way before the new coaching staff got here, and a running back from Carter, who went on to play at Maryville College. Both players received those offers while at Bearden, and both players got a diploma from Bearden High School. Therefore, they are Bearden kids, and you can’t do anything about that.   The transfer from Seymour didn’t win the job, what do you expect two quarterbacks to start at the same time? He played great on JV when he could stay healthy, and when he came in on varsity, he did great. The quarterback position is definitely going to be in good hands when the current starting quarterback leaves, but until then, they’re just going to be battling it out like every good quarterback competition does. The current starting quarterback has his flaws, and that is in the pass game, but what he doesn’t have flaws is running and scrambling, and if you go back and watch any game, which I’m sure you didn’t watch any, we used him very often, and when we needed a deep ball, we brought in the transfer from Seymour. The starting quarterback last year will be a senior this year, and the Seymour transfer will be a junior, so the Seymour transfer is definitely going to get his spotlight. He may even win the job this year. Football isn’t about who the newspaper thinks is the best kid. The best kid in the position will win the starting job, and I trust the coaching staff more than a newspaper or article to pick my starting QB.
    • I mean, we’ve only gotten two transfers that went on to play college football, one who went to UT Martin came his second semester junior year before the new coaching staff was here, and the other one went on to play at Maryville College, in which I don’t believe he had any interest prior to transferring.
    • An FYI: To see how an opponent has done against another opponent since 2001- go to the game by clicking on one of the teams. Click the G beside the game. For example, Milan: The info will show you the previous matchups and other info.
    • All these college signees went yo other schools for 3 years, were getting college offers then transferred to Bearden. It’s not like this staff did much to develop them.    The BBall coaches son and the Seymour transfer were some of the most talented QBs in the region, and you guys developed them into QBs who might complete one pass a game.
