I'll be pulling for the Govs but there are many players on the Heritage team that came through while I was involved in rec football. I wish them well but still want the Gov's to win........ TG24
WB takes this one, 27-10. The Govs have shown improvement every week of the season and they really have some weapons on offense with Hunter Saunders and Jesse Crisp. We look forward to ringing the bell for the fourteenth straight year. Go Govs!

We look forward to ringing the bell for the fourteenth straight year. Go Govs! No offense (and no pun intended), but do you really think that WB offense can put up 27 when MHS scored 38. HHS defense is not really a pushover like in the past and the offensive line has begun to gel. Now, I can agree that WB does have some nice athletes, but not quite like in past years. WB may win, but I think 27-10 is a little extreme.
GovMan
Not making score predictions. Just stat predictions. Chase Cline will go over 200 yards. 3 TD's. Willy B. D-line is just way to unathletic. Especially at DT. T. Hartley throws for 100 yrds. 1 TD. (probaby off on yards... but who knows) Heritage D-line/linbackers 8 sacks. Oh, and just so you know Heritage will be bringing their cop escort like they do for every game, and pregame meals so just a heads up so you don't complain about it like mary fans. You know its coming Good luck to both sides. After the game if the outcome is Heritage on top we want the big bell back. Not the tiny thing you show up to games with. Been around since the beginning. The bell we roll out for games is the original and only bell ever. It must just seem bigger in your mind since it has been since 1996 since you all last had a chance to keep it. tpoole12
Relating to an earlier post... Although Cline is a great athelete and may have 200 yds in this game I don't see 3 tds in this game.. Hartley can throw the ball well but seems to lock in on certain receivers and force the throws. I attended the SD and LC games and saw many receivers running open that Hartley never even looked that way. I admit at times pressure forced him to throw earlier than he would have liked but still he doesn't seem to be able to see the field. I'm sure if he was taller it would help but you have to play with the body the God gave you....... Against Catholic William Blount moved the ball well but did not finish drives. They stopped themselves more often than the opposing defense. The Govs cannot afford to turn over the ball and must limit penalties. Their defense played well last game in that they were in position to make plays but failed to make them. If I were coaching Heritage I would try to get Cline the ball out in space. I would try to move the pocket for Hartley so he could get a better look down field. Likewise if I was coaching WB I would try to control the ball and the clock. Pound the rock as they say. If Heritage loads the box on defense I would try to get it out on the edge and go over the top every now then to keep the defense honest. This should be a good game. Most of the players from both teams know each other and many have played with or against each other since they were children. Both teams will bring their best and the team that catches the most breaks early will likely win. I hope both teams get through this game injury free and wish them well the rest of the year but for this game............................. I can see where you may think 27-10 is a little bit much, but WB did put up 28 on Karns, and even though Heritage beat Karns 12-3 earlier in the year, those two teams appeared to be pretty evenly matched. Like tpoole12 said, WB moved the ball extremely well against Catholic but just didn't finish drives. I think this is the week that everything comes together for the Govs and they make a big statement.
TG24
Here are some stats for you. William Blount has Given up: 106 pts on the season Scored: 74 pts on the season Heritage has Given up: 75 pts on the season Scored: 76 points on the season Its not worth much, talking about the karns game. William Blount ran a different offense then, and you never had to sustain a long drive. Most of your points where handed to you. You will not be able to move the ball on Heritage this week. Your O-line is fat and slow. Should Evan Brown give them his autograph after or before the game?? Will probably hold the new Sack Record after this one. Here's a little background behind those stats. WB's schedule: Sevier County, Karns, Bearden, Jefferson County and Catholic. Heritage's schedule: Karns, South Doyle, Lenoir City, Seymour, and Maryville. You don't think those first four games happened to inflate your stats a little bit, do you? I'll give it to you, there is one difference between this year's Heritage squad and previous versions: this year's didn't even sweep through their first few weak teams before getting thrashed the rest of the way. Oh, and since you're so keen on stats, let me throw a number out there: 5110. That's how many days have passed since Heritage has rang the bell! MHS82
I have had the opportunity to see both teams play once. I saw WB early and felt they were pretty solid on defense and a little weak on Offense. Heritage did not look as strong defensively but more weapons offensively. I think it will be a close game. I predict a 14 - 10 WB win. One of the 2 wb scores will be contributed to defense.

I guarantee Evan Brown is no better than the big D-1 prospects of Catholic's line, and we moved the ball just fine against them. If the govs can just cut out the turnovers, a win will be no problem. I predict Governors 28-

I had the pleasure of coaching this young man when 9 /10 years old. I was always sure this young man would be a good player. He may or may not be as good as the Catholic D-1 prospects but I'm sure he's a bit quicker. More importantly he was a very good kid. His manners and attitude at a young age reflected well on his up bringing. I wish Evan well but hope that he doesn't set a sack record this week..... tpoole12
