wingman10
So to start the District year, Richland spanks Cornersville and Santa Fe beats up Culleoka. Haven't heard or seen a score for Mt. Pleasant and Hampshire. Not much of a surprise in the Richland/Cornersville game. As for Santa Fe, I think that is a huge shock to most fans of 11A. Friday's slate: Columbia Academy vs. Richland Culleoka vs. Hampshire Santa Fe vs. Mt. Pleasant Ardmore (AL) vs. Cornersville Where are all the fans of District 11A?? We used to have several posters on here. Sure not like the old days Edited December 10, 2010 by wingman10
thenomad
Students graduate, teams head south in the standings. Culleoka isn't what they use to be so culleokarep and cullypride have quit talking. I'm not sure where BulldawgGrowl has gone. Plus some may have been people close to Saturn. Who knows. As for games, Richland is very young only 2 SR and 0 JR. They should be in the game but I look for them to fade late against CA as well. I believe the Culleoka/Hampshire game will be the closer this game has been in years! After a big win, Santa Fe has to get their heads turned or they may be flattened by Mt. Pleasant. Cornerville playing out of district might help, but I'd Ardmore wins big.
thenomad
Well so far this season is true to form. No huge surprises as most people had standing similar to those that are posted. Let's wait and see if we have an upsets!
MidTNCoach
The district is not locked up like everyone says... top 2 to 3 teams could battle all year long. Seemed pretty evident in the SF vs. MTP game which was very competitive for 4 quarters. free throws at the end made it a 10 point victory, but fans could definately see the looks on those MTP players and coaches faces when it was tied so late in the game. As for the district, now is the time to gain a little momentum going into the break.

That must have been a great game! Mt. Pleasant plays at Culleoka tonight. Culleoka has to have good shooting from outside to open up its postplayers in order to stay close to Mt P. Santa Fe beat us bad at your place--we had an awful night of shooting. We beat Hampshire fairly well at Culleoka but tonight is a far better opponent. We'll see what happens. BOYS GAME IS FIRST TONIGHT! Who else is playing and where tonight? Edited December 14, 2010 by arabica43

thenomad
I watched Culleoka/Mt. Pleasant last night. Arabica you were right about the outside shooting. However, the had it from Henson. The only problem was no one else could step up. Henson had 22 and the next closest was Jackson at 9. I can't believe this group isn't better. Most of these kids played middle school ball and played for two county championships. The only had trouble with Mt. Pleasant then. I know middle school doesn't necessarily roll over into high school but they to have peaked in 8th grade.

The game plan was awesome. Lots of open looks around the basket that should have ended in points but didn't. I don't know if the threat of being blocked had anything to do with that or not. Zach Henson definately had the hot hand last night, on both ends. Which is really no surprise. The kid is lights out if left open. MTP really didn't impress me all that much. Same ole shoot, miss, jump over everybody, get the rebound, shoot, miss ect ect. They will get beat by somebody in the district this year. All it will take is the right group of ref's who call over-the-back fouls and the game will be over.

Lynnvegas
nothing really they have a couple of shooters but no size cornersville big dude killed them the other night. Richland doesnt have much size, start 3 sometimes 4 Sophs but they should improve as the season goes along. Top 3 or 4 scorers are Soph They have been competitive in every game except at Spring Hill. Should be a good game tom night with CULLY minus Slaton.
