thenomad
Cullypride, I agree. They definitely showed their inexperience; However, it's not just that. They don't seem prepared. They have some good talent if they could only do the small things. Dribbling, passing, and positioning is such a big part of this game. Culleoka has some groups that work well together, but the groups don't seem to always mesh. I still don't think the work ethic is there. We'll see as the season progresses. Alot of the not looking prepared last night was because coach sharp had a loss in the family and wasn't able to conduct a walk through or anything yesterday afternoon. In fact he wasn't back until right before gametime (resaon guys played first). Reguardless, frustration fouls, missed free throws and double dribbles in the back court with no press are uncalled for. Nobody stepped up last night in the 4th quarter or overtime, they were looking for someone else to do it. Culleoka is the better team no doubt. They just have to eliminate the stupid, lazy mistakes. richlandraiderdad
Whats the opinion on Richland vs. Culleoka this Friday? I haven't seen Culleoka this year, but Coach Fralix has the Raiders playing really good...

Escape17
geeesh, you could coach them to the w DUH! Defending State Runner-up! Lost only one Senior from last years team! Bruce is a good coach, but he stepped into a pretty good situtation. Give him credit for being smart enough to go where talent & an a GREAT summer AAU program exist!! Those kids don't need a lot of coaching! Over coaching them at this point would be counter productive. Give'em a little guidance & turn them loose! wishiknewBB
Exactly Escape, alot of coaches are handed great players and then they are called a great coach. LOL! A good coach doesn't have a good feeder program and can still find a way to win game after game. Great feeder programs are like gold to any coach. It makes them look good. They are a very good team, with talent but to even question whether Bruce is an excellent coach or not shows how little some of the posters on here know. He is one of the best at 3 key things: 1. player development, 2. Game prep. and 3.In game coaching. He doesnt always win every game, but he doesn't have many where he is out of it. The team has overcome several injuries at Moore County this year, including 2 key cogs from that team last year.Just ask yourself this simple question, If you had your choice of the coach you have now or Bruce Slatten which would you choose?
