I forgot I was here to keep you satisfied....

Seeing how the bridge is the only tangible object of relevance in E-Town, I have to play the cards I am dealt.

What are you doing out of the kitchen again, anyway?

Pies are in the oven and the turkey is in the brine...dressing's made and in the fridge. Just gotta whip up a batch of crow sauce for my Maplewood buddy Boski and I'm done. Now as for the bridge being the only tangible object of relevance in Cowtown, I believe you are correct.

Scots I (an African American man) stand with you as a brother. I read cp's post, but felt it not worthy of my response, especially since I could sense the intent of his comment (for shame, and in 2010 no less). I am proud of the diversity of the community and school (which includes Hispanics, Asians, Africans, etc.) I love the Hall/Oldfield and Spring Brook communities. The truth is- that is where the real talent pool springs from :thumb:

Ditto, I am proud to be living in this community and embrace my fellow man without regard to their ethnic background.

Best of luck to all and I hope for an injury free game between these two teams who have worked hard to be at this place in the playoffs. Safe travels to all from Elizabethton and hope that all fans, players and coaches have a very Happy Thanksgiving. May sportsmanship prevail over all emotion on Friday.

I will be on the concrete cheering on Alcoa as well as celebrating all the victories for ALL the young men who are competing on Friday night.

Anybody that claimed that Alcoa or Maryville does not pull from the other schools was not telling the truth. We have several on the Alcoa team. We have also had several transfer back out the the County schools as they could not make it academically or they were never going to see the field.

I cannot stop without addressing the grossly incorrect comment about recruiting inner city Knoxville athletes. This drival was the most henious comment I have read yet. We all now what the writer meant. We have no inner city Knoxville athletes. Alcoa has a vibrant African American community that serves as the sole source for our outstanding athletes. Moreover, I strongly believe (I am white so read this carefully) this community is the heart and sole of everything that is right with the Alcoa community and School System. The blending of diversity among these young men, our families, and fans is special and should serve as a role model for all communities still living in the past.

Being involved with this team for the countless year I have, I understand where you're coming from but dont sell the rest of the city out. The amazing athletes that came out of the Hall and Old Field communities couldnt do it without the athletes that came out of the Springbrook and Armona areas...and vice versa. Alcoa shows it's a team effort! :thumb:
