cbg
I was just braking down the brackets in general. It is tough to have a state tourny with not filling up the weight classes. Particuliar the 112 wherre you have almost as many byes as entries. It has got alot better than the first few years, most of the classes are almost full 8 out of 14. Then why not have a large Dll and small Dll' Make it an 8 man bracket? Maybe the smaller schools will have a chance. In no way does Tennessee need another division for an individual sport. IMO, all indivudual sports (wrestling, bowling, tennis, track & field, cross country, etc...) should have one champion. Those individuals from large schools that participate in individual sports championships have no advantage over those athletes from small schools. If you are keeping a team score the large schools would have more students to choose from to select their team but good coaching could and has offset that in wrestling. wrstlnman
130, 140 and 152 should be interesting. Each weight class has 6 returning medalist in each. Don't forget about 119. There are 6 returning medalists there too. 2 of 'em wrestle in the first round of the tournament, and the two returning state champs are on the same side of the bracket. memphiswrestling171
With 8 graders allowed under the same school administration does this mean they have the same principal and staff under same roof or how does this work can someone clarify this for me

ghouse
There are only 5 medalists recorded on the brackets. Pummel, you know me and I just counted 6. did you scroll all the way down. Pierce Olson is the 6th medalist... he is not listed as such at the bottom of the bracket but is indicated as such on the bracket itself. Olson is the DII 103 runner-up from 2010. ghouse
Ghouse can u answer my question bout how a 8th grader can wrestle which the full question is on page 1 It would be best to head over to TSSAA.org and take a look into the handbook for the official wording but what my understanding has been is that the following criteria must be meet for an 8th grader to compete on varsity: 1) the 8th grade and high school must be located on the same campus 2) the 8th grade and high school must be under the same administration As far as I know those are only guidelines because I don't know the exact TSSAA wording. I have never had an opportunity to coach at a school where it was a possibility so I haven't really gone to look for it.
