Bradley Central?

To respond to several items in this thread:

 

1) The BCHS/CHS game has been moved back to Friday night from the originally scheduled Thursday.

2) When BCHS goes to Alcoa this coming Thursday, it is for a joint practice and not a scrimmage. That's the word from the coach.

3) The rising lineman is probably junior Austin Sanders, 6-5, 285 lbs., offensive and defensive tackle. Lots of interest from several schools.

4) The Copeland kid at QB is ready to lead the Bears to a stellar season barring major injuries from a host of returning offensive and defensive players. I've personally been around this young man on many occasions and have never seen him display anything but good sportmanship, win or lose. Whether or the basketball court or the football field he remains cool and calm no matter the circumstances. The Bears will have to rebuild most of both lines but their offensive and defensive backfields will be something exciting to watch.

 

Please be supportive of your school and positive in every way. There's no room on these boards to try and drag down kids who are simply doing what they love. And that is play sports for their school.

 

well said baconbreath- I think any team can beat anyone on any given night,it just depends on who wants it more. Go Bears!

The scrimage is at 6pm Aug. 6th The following teams are S. Pitt, Mc. Central, Brainerd, Clinton, and of course BC. I don,t think anybody is going to go and try to show out, but get in some good work. Coach Floyd told me it would be 10 plays off. then 10 on Def. and rotate. I think it will be well organized. Would be nice if somebody would do cookout after scrimage. I always did that as head coach. I am sure the teams could pitch in and make it happen. Always good fellowship, and better than McDonalds.

I wanted to thank Bradley for inviting us down to participate in the 5 way scrimmage. I feel like we got a very good look at several good teams in the area and wish all of you the best of luck this season. Impressive facilities!

I was just glad we were able to compete with BC. Holding you to only 2 big plays was huge for us. Your defense is very stout and will be key for you this year. You took the 10 off 10 def by a score of 1- 0, and we took the goalline part 2 - 1. Great games and wish you the best this year.

What schools have offerred the senior "in his hand"?

I don't know about any senior but there is a story in the cleveland daily banner about a junior accepting a offer from UT. Austin Sanders I think is his name.

Way to go Bears. Take on a Price coached team and win. That is a nice start, no matter the situation.

 

My concern is the defense. Looks like the loss of Massengil Colbough and Bolton is an issue of more concern than I would like.

If you are playing Bradley at Bear Stadium, you better arrive early if you want some decent parking. Their fans are arriving early and they are packing the stadium.

Getting in and parking can be a chore. On the bright side, we have plenty of room. One of the few stadiums around that has equal capacity on home and visitor sides.
