St. George's vs USJ

The game has been a tale of two quarters. St. George's scored on the first play from scrimmage, then added a touchdown after a USJ turnover in the end zone to lead 14-0 after one quarter. But the Bruins bounced back in the second stanza, scoring 10 points to trail 14-10 at halftime.

If St. George's can continue its successful rushing attack in the second half, the Gryphons will be tough to stop. If USJ can contain the St. George's rushing game and continue to pass the ball to Mayhall, they'll take control.

The camera work on the tv broadcast is not the best I have ever seen. I also don't really care for Murphy Fair doing interviews. And who are these women working the half time. Simply awful.

But to the game...St. George's with all the momentum early. USJ makes adjustments and now playing much better. USJ with ball to start the second half. If USJ gets the lead, the floodgates my open up.

The St. George's Gryphons are State Champs! For all the people who thought they couldn't do it, for those of you who doubted them, disrespected them, or "de-friended" them at one point or another this season all I gotta say is I told you so!! pinnheadlarry, movinonup, usjbruin, I don't hear much talking anymore! "D.C.A. is to much for the Gryphons" "There is no way S.G. keeps up with Harding in the playoffs" "Final score in the state championship game... U.S.J. 42 S.G. 27" "U.S.J. can't be stopped" I have been telling you people for the past four weeks that S.G. was the truth and ya'll never listened! I hope that from now on the people on coacht.com and in this state will respect S.G. and the program that they have become. :roflol:

FINAL SCORE - ST. GEORGE'S 28 U.S.J. 23

Enjoy the off season... I know I will!

Having been to the last meeting between the USJ Bruins and the SGIS Gryphins, the main reason why the game was such a blowout was because SGIS had no answer for USJ's d-line. IF the SGIS coaches can find a way to slow them down, it could be a lot closer of a game. However, I don't think any team in D-II A has the capabilities of slowing down USJ's offense. They just seem unstopable, and if they play like they did against Webb, I don't think it's possible for them to lose.

    • One of the biggest loosing teams in Mid-State are the Macon County Tigerettes. I have noticed that the roster is smaller than in the years past. All the senior's have quit. We have a great group of Jr High players coming up. I sure hope they don't loose them, like they have lost so many others this year. With this young group of girls coming up, a weaker district, they should have no problem going to State.
    • It was updated this season, because I did it.  Linder is the school's all-time leading rusher at 5,156 yards with 2,436 of those coming in 2014.
    • Oh, I’m sure you did. Maybe you heard just a rumor, but considering we have a football practice field and a soccer field that’s frequently used for lacrosse games and practices, I highly doubt it. Let me change that. I know for a fact that didn’t happen.   Glad you finally stopped attacking a bunch of high school students, but still obsessed with the coaching staff for some unknown reason, even though you could name more than three (at most) coaches without looking it up. But now come up with something else.
    • You really mean the Price twin boys and Lyin Larry.
    • Now that wouldn’t surprise me a bit. That has been going on heavily since the days of Larry Kerr @ AC. One of the major reasons CC has never really had much at all, barring about 2 seasons in football. AC milks it dry.
