Let the past stay in the past, As for football Mac is the best,Mac came to Moore Co. in 1987 turned the program around and took the raiders to the clinic bowl in 1988 .,Ever year during his reign at Moore Co we played 12 to 14 games ever year., Mac is a very good coach give him time and your program will turn in the right direction if the players are willing enough.

The veer offense is not what I would call misdirection offense you are running right at the defense, the defense just have to decide what they want to do. I would say it more of a timing offense.

You are right the veer itself is not a misdirection play, however I like to rum midline under center and run counter Iso the other way, which creates misdirection. We run shotgun 75% of the time now, and it has taken me awhile to come up with a good misdirection play off midline and veer out of the gun. I hope we can really get it down this spring. My problem is we have so much speed that it is hard to get our kids to slow it down to set up the counter Iso, so we are having to do somethings a little different to compensate. If we can keep people from recruiting kids from our feeder schools maybe we can get our numbers up. That has been our biggest problem.

As far as what I said earlier about Sp stoping the wing-t, if you can over power them fine, however if not they are just going to spill it and kill it with their speed in my opinion.

Yes you are right when you run counter plays and some trap play it become misdirection . Since you have so much speed you should be running the veer all the time that what it take to run the veer. Trust me having speed is nice, but you really don't have to have it if executed properly. That is why alot of teams with a bunch of slow white kids run it. It really is a 3 or 4 yards and a cloud of dust offense, but you are hoping it will eventually break open. However, the best thing about it is you can take the other teams best defensive lineman out of the game by reading him. I have said this before, my two favorite plays are the midline and counter Iso. However out of the gun, fear the veer, it is a much easier read. You are also correct about another thing, it really takes about a year, maybe two to get the option down, especially if your QB does not return. Our freshman QB got exposed to it two years ago, he took the job over this year as a sophmore, really looking forward to him running this next year. He also has a cannon for a arm, and with some idea of what he is doing. One more thing that we are doing that is fun, we run no huddle, run to line to run play, do a fake snap count, then call in the play, at times it is like taking candy away from a baby. We played one team this year and their end, if he put his outside hand down he slanted outside. If he put his inside hand down he went inside. Our Qb already knew what was up when play come down. This lineman was voted all Region in 4A. Like I said, I love the option, but it is best to run what you know best because in the end it all boils down to fundamentals.

You need to call that Childress man and tell him about this recruiting mess. If he finds out about it, he will make those coaches vacate some of their wins like he did that Price man this year. He made them vacate 6 wins. I garuntee you the next school he catches cheating will have to vacate their whole season. You think im joking but im not.

Roy, it is not the coaches doing it. Recruiting may also be a bad word, just tells me we are not getting it done. Alot of these teams are getting kids by doing well, academically and athletically. That is where we have to step up. How can you blame a kid for going to a good overall program if the opportunity presents itself. I will tell all kids go where you feel like you need to go, do what is best for you. If we are just in this to win ball games, I am sorry, I LOVE TO WIN AS MUCH AS ANYONE, I promise you that winning ball games is not the most important thing to me.

The WingT offense isn't some type of new offense. It has been around a very long time. Speed is still a big player in the wingT. Sweeps are still a big part of the game. There is also quite a bit of misdirection in the wingT. Some coaches tend to use a belly and speed series that features traps and counters from this offense. Alot of teams run a certain formation that might look like a wingT formation, but that doesn't neccesarily mean they are running a true wingT offense.

Wing-t is a very good offense if you have the personnel MC do not have it.
