Nope. They are having early setbacks. A lot I youngsters getting the first starts. The defense is still young but seems to be getting better lil at a time. By week 11 watch out. Lastnight was a heart breaker because we had the ball on there three and a Mia communication between the rb and qb caused a fumble. We lost 31 28. Our offense is still very very goood

Way to throw your backs under the bus Ballard! Blaming one fumble for the loss. Hold them there and you score! Not to worry you will beat the little teams in your conference! Wonder what percentage of people even remember who the devils played last year for their gold ball. Bet everyone would remember if you had beaten a Maryville, an Oak Ridge, or anyone from a power program. I know sizewise you are in the right level but program and pridewise you are way lower than you should be. By the way several Greene teams of the past would have destroyed the two 4A champs most notably the teams that Frank Debusk and Marty Story played on. Anyway have a great season in biddy ball!

all of ballards horses and all of ballards men, WILL HOWEVER, be in cookeville again!!

Really? As spectators, maybe? I predict that the physical beating you will take from Alcoa, will leave you guys so banged up that it will affect the three games that follow,

Maybe so but the 3 games that follow are conference games so there will be time to heal.

actually, id say it was more of a bad exchange than a fumble, but it goes down as a fumble in the stats and im not sure what you're talking about when you say "way to go ballard"..but if he at some point mentioned that "fumble" as being a factor in the loss, he's right...."the team that makes the fewest mistakes wins"....it's a neyland maxim and it's a FACT....sht happens and turnovers cost teams games..in the grand scheme of things, this game is meaningless...in the scheme of getting a young team ready for a playoff run, these kids will remember this down the road...that awful feeling they had as the cl ock hit all zeros and they had lost again....mark it down....regardless of who we play on the way, "the way" ultimately ends up on Cookeville.....we'll be there...BANK ON IT

Just sayng a class coach would have probably said something like "I did not have them ready to play" and taken the blame off two teenage boys instead of saying their turnover cost his team the game! Oh well maybe he can hang eighty on the next opponent and feel better.

    • I agree with the Farragut and Bradley claim. Those will both be wins. Bearden like you say is depending on when you get them in comparison to when the wheels fall off.  As far as West goes I’m 50-50. They have been able to reload so far so until they show me they haven’t I can’t count them out.
    • during the 2nd round of the playoffs last year against Milan, Gray partially tore his meniscus. He had a minor repair around Thanksgiving. Recovery time was minimal and he has been full force for baseball this season.
    • What do ya’ll think the O/U will be? I would set the line at 2.5
    • Playing high school sports is a privilege not a right.  The college did not have to rescind the scholarship.  Scholarship offers are pulled all the time for a number of reasons. That was 100% their choice.  A coach can keep, cut, or dismiss any player that they want to without reason anytime they want.  Is that the right way to run a program?? I don't think that it is, but these are the facts of the matter. This case has absolutely 0% chance of going in the plaintiff's favor. Futhermore, I'd imagine that these administrators and the coach are a part of some teaching or coaching organization that will cover at least 1 million dollars each in legal fees. Obviously the kid and her family feel like there were "damages" thus the lawsuit.  Unfortunately, the law is not on their side in this case.
    • Maryville will recapture the loses from last year against West, Bradley and Farragut. The Bearden game will be the tough one but I look for the wheels to come off that ride somewhere down the road because of all the crap that goes on there. I know to many parents there and some of the things I've been told and some of the post a few of them have made on facebook. They all can't be liars.
