37% increase in the senior roster from the sophomore roster is pretty impressive. That isn't a lie, its a fact.

Yes, the growth in our school has been impressive. Had to be at least 20% to get reclassified mid-cycle.

Fact: We had 13 soph on the 2010 roster and 16 seniors this year. That's an 18% increase.

Fact: 3 of your current 12 juniors weren't on your roster in 2010. That's a 25% increase.

BFD. Arguing with you is like arguing with a woman. No point in it and no way to win.

(Note to self: Never believe anything rlh says, 'cause he's a liar.)

35.6% of your seniors weren't on the 2010 roster. Given you only have an 18% overall increase, that is interesting.

It looks like there are about a dozen that weren't on the 2011 roster. That isn't saying there was any monkey business involved, just that they weren't on it last year and it was previously said there were none other than freshmen. It's easy to overlook names in a list like this but it also looks like 10 of 16 current seniors didn't play as freshmen for whatever reason.

The school growth leveled off quickly in 9-12, if not you'd have probably had over 1000 in 9-12 by now. It looks as if that was due to no senior class the first year if I remember right and a small junior class as many would not want to switch for their last year or two even if living out there.

Signal is committing no crime here. I think we all agree. The truth is for those schools that rely solely on the family tree for their "football gene talent" are going to have good years and bad years. For those schools with attraction, they are going to be able to replenish when the "gene pool" is a little dry. Is it an unfair advantage? maybe but as long as it is done legally, it is like the weather , everyone can complain but nothing can be done about it. On Signal's part , they need to realize that in the Region that we all compete in, just having 2 or 3 players that are above the norm, can make a huge difference in the class3A "smaller school " divisions. Signal is a good team, with a good coach, with good facilities. It should be a proud program and proud that it is an attraction to those outside the community, but also please show a little humility knowing that being superior to others year after year after year ( whether it be at the state level or in your own conference) often takes a little more than what the community can offer.

By the way, there are plenty of other programs that enjoy this benefit as well. so we don't need to pick on SIgnal.

Personally, in my opinion, the private schools are the ones that have the greatest advantage.

Signal isn't a private school? I thought is was like a waiting room for those trying to get into Baylor.

You are not seriously trying to make a point with these numbers are you?

No, but its a lot different than saying that the only new players are mostly freshmen. Plus, those % are more significant at the 3a/4a level compared to 1a. I guess they look normal at a big 4a open enrollment school.

These percents mean nothing...they are random. How many students constitutes 36 % of new seniors on the football team who did not play as sophomores? And how does an 18% increase in enrollment relate to that? You cannot tie the 2 together without knowing how many of the new football players are new students and how many new students are both seniors and football players. But lets deflect and play the open enrollment card. Why don't you just go ahead and play your numbers game with Greeneville (who I have never heard referred to as big). Of course you will need to know the exact number of students that are new, play football and live out of zone before you can make a point. If you wait a few more weeks Greeneville City Schools will release the enrollment numbers for the current year, including the total number of tuition students system wide...they may actually be broken down by school. Then you can drag out your slide rule or abbacus or take your shoes off and cipher to your little hearts content.
