croz6110
What happened to #4? Since he was ejected against SP, he has to sit out the next game, which happens to be this week. TSSAA rules.
Guest Termite
Actually Term SC has 2-4 year starters..The Carter twins have started every game since they were freshman. They have played alot since they were freshmen, but Zac started 6-7 games as a freshman. I don't remember Taylor starting as a freshman. Could have though.....my memory ain't what it used to be.. That would have been White-Gibbs-Denny-Vance-Bray and Carter starting with Denny at TE or Bray only on defense.

gunner76
I may be wrong..and i usually am..but something tells me sc didn't show much against sparta..I think come Friday your gonna see a much more exciting offense out of sc..I believe they'll be able to hang some numbers against blue..never seen maynord rotate the carter boys in and out on the d line..I think that's gonna help a lot in tryin to stop gordonsvilles run..well see tho
CommanderMan
So what's the over/under in this game, 7.5? Lol
Tigertradition
I'm leaning the other way, obviously. I don't think the big plays that SC had against White Co will happen against Gordonsville. Smith Co better be able to keep the ball for long drives or this will be the Tigers game. That being said, Station Camp did show the tigers main weakness on D, out of position db's on passing downs. I think Gordonsville goes 9-1 on the regular season and that one loss is a team that will pass 30 times against us, Friendship. (Thanks to a off season mvp quarterback transfer) Conditioning for Gordonsville has never been an issue, we've always played on both sides of the ball and will be ready. Home field advantage in this game, at eithers home field is completely overrated, IMO, because these boys are all playing in front of familiar faces. On the offensive side: in the jamboree, Gordonsville only showed a running game against Station Camp but it was unstoppable. GHS didnt pass til the backups were in and Watson never kept the ball, considering the play action pass and watson rushing will be big parts of our offense, its safe to say that we were pretty vanilla against station camp. GHS has the ability to grind it out with ball control or break the big play. I dont know how good SC's defense is but i can guarantee theyll be worn out by the end of Friday nights game. I look for Ghs to take control after the original burst of adrenaline wears off and avenge last years defeat. As in the past when Gordonsville went to the STATE in the past, they beat Smith Co., and this year will duplicate itself. I say Tigers 26 Owls 17. By the way, i loved beating SC in every sport when i played ball but im not a vendictive Gordonsville alum, just a Gordonsville alum thats a huge sports fan. Wish the best to both teams, hope both sides come out healthy, and hope both win out after this game. GO TIGERS!
glover
The reason Gordonsville has the line advantage is anyone who witnessed last years game saw the G'ville D-line camp out in the Carthage backfield as evidence by the number of negative plays and giving up minimal rushing yardage. In fact, the past three years all who were there saw the same thing as the Gordonsville Line outplayed the owl line physically. The losses were for the most part due to mistakes (2009 we dropped a wide open interception where we could have taken a knee and ran out the clock for the win, 2010 penalties in a game where the game was 0-0 close to the end of the 3rd quarter, and of course last season 2 very costly and untimely turnovers, 1 after Cason's long run and the muffed punt in the fourth quarter. Even some of your die hard fans and coaches have stated the same to me as I have just stated. #53 and #77 are difficult for most teams around here to handle so it really is nothing to be ashamed of. Just because someone has started for 2+ years doesnt mean they are the best on the field. Dont get me wrong, experience is important and crucial but at the end of the day when you just look at pure overall talent, Gordonsville is a little better up front. What could be a difference this year is not having #4 for that first game. He is a tackling machine but I have faith in #56, #46 and the rest of the Tiger Defense. And who won those games again? Guest Termite
And who won those games again? Glover, he's telling you why SC won. Because G-ville had mistakes, you know penalities and dropped balls. SC don't have penalities and drops. Or if they do.........they must be little ones. scowl
I wouldn't be too worried about SC if I were a Tiger. Sounds like you guys have the game plan and know exactly what to do and should have it put it away by halftime... . SC sure did luck up the other night, with as little talent as you say we have, we are lucky to have made it out alive. Whew, we have been found out, might as well stay home Friday night folks. Go easy on us. We are neighbors ya know..
gunner76
I don't understand where gordonsville fans are coming from? Smith co is not much different from last year..if anything should be improved..but hey..acorrding to blue fans its been their year for the past three years now..and well..we know how that worked out..what even gives them right to talk? 13 years in a row? Sure ur gonna win one every now and then..but really?

I for some reason have a feeling that this is gonna be like every game since y'all last beat SC. I think y'all have a very good team and have the best shot at beating us this year. AJ is really good but I doubt we'll throw it 30 times on yall. I'd say it will be closer to 20. We'll score some points on y'all but I don't know if our defense will stop your offense. We looked good against the run at DCA, but I'm willing to bet that yalls line is a lot better than DCA's.
