TheNewGuy
Over time, they could be very good I can't really think of any sports that they aren't good at... They are usually big competition in anything Year in and year out
Big Bigby
Summertown Eagles will be 1A.... Less than 700 students 7-12 listed on Public Schools website.... Total population in Summertown is little over 4,100. They will be a force to reckon with in District 12/Region 6 in a few years. Summertown always produces quality athletes. Finally got a sports program for their cornbread fed boys to play. Lol. Along with their baseball/ basketball athletes.... they'll be good. Loretto gets the win.... this team is mTp's final threat. wildcat89
Most of the boys that have wanted to play football have played somewhere anyway. If anything having a football team may take away from some of that year around practicing they do in baseball and basketball.

fodeldink
Yeah they have about 3,000 students Yea right, maybe if the entire population of Summertown enrolled in high school. lol. I know they are 1A in all other sports, so I am pretty sure they would be 1A in football. But they might be right on the bubble of 2A. I am so glad that Summertown finally got a football team. I've never understood why they didn't have one, especially since they are so competitive in every other sport they compete in.
fodeldink
It is my understanding that a few players will still have to set for the Collinwood game. They are good players, but the next ones in line have really played well. Loretto did not miss a beat last Friday night. In fact, they looked stronger in some areas. I am not talking about the players. Loretto has started to become Multi-Dimensional. In years past we have been a one trick pony. This year we have several ways to score. We have the running game with 3 good backs at all times. Allen, Brown, and Zack. Each of these guys can take it to the house. They are often in the game at the same time. Dalton has some jets also. The Stangs also have a new passing game. It is not fancy, but it will hurt the defense when needed. Rosson has showed me he can lead the offense. He has some very good receivers in Burks, Harris, and Darnell. I think Loretto gets the win. It will be a hard hitting game. I found this article about the suspensions. I think Loretto reacted too harsh by adding more games. 6 players, 2 fans suspended after Richland-Loretto fight Posted on September 28, 2012 by Chip Cirillo A Richland football player and a Loretto player that got into a fight in the Mustangs’ 39-6 homecoming win last week have been suspended for three games. The Tennessee Secondary School Athletic Association did not release the names of the players. The TSSAA suspended the players one game each and the schools added two additional games. Two players from both schools who pushed and shoved while trying to separate players were suspended for two games. The TSSAA suspended them for one game and the schools suspended them for one game. Two Richland spectators who were escorted out of the stadium by law enforcement officials for screaming during and after the incident were suspended for one game by Richland. The TSSAA viewed game video of the incident. “It did not come close to rising to the level of a brawl, which is the first thing that we heard,†TSSAA executive director Bernard Childress said. “No one came off the sidelines. The coaches did exactly what they’ve been asked to do. Basically, two kids fought and the rest of them were in there pulling other kids apart or pulling people back.†Attempts to reach Loretto coach Lee Boyd and Richland coach Troy Hughes were unsuccessful
