Yeah postman, we singled him out because he is a player. He was also singled out last year. By the media for the outstanding game he had. Hopefully the same will be true this year as well. It will be an uphill battle against a great team from Gordonsville. Everyone knows that.

Good post Mr Bone. Gordonsville has a very good team, like you said everyone knows that. They should win the matchup this year. SP will show up and play hard.

Looking forward to a great game. I hope SP can keep it close. However Pirate players if you don':t feel like you been called out by now something wrong. Stay focused and play hard every down. #6 ,#25. #28 #2. Their knocking at the door for you guys. You gonna answer? Hit the holes and go boys. Its time for one or all of you guys to have a stellar night. What's it to be guys? We gonna hit somebody? We gonna hit the holes and take the 3 to 5 and not let them string you out to the sideline?

If you got the ball are you going to cover it up in traffic? If you ain't got the ball are you going to block for the other guy? What you guys gonna do?

Lineman what's it going to be? Very little respect shown to you guys this season. I think you guys can open some holes. Offensively Stay low stay low. Defensively wow you guys played Boyd Grace and stood toe to toe with signal all night. You held Boyd to one touchdown in the whole second half. This is another 1A team and for some reason folks trying to sell you a bag of soap. #10 will this be your night? #57 #60 #47 what about it fellows wrap these boys up. Square up when making the tackle.

All that said win or lose keep the attitudes in check, be good sports and always help the other fellow up leave it all on the field and most of all have fun young men!

I'd say my buddies would agree with you. I was told by my buddies they didnt just want to win they wanted to make a lasting impression on the SP trash talkers in the pain department my friend. I'm sure the Johnson kid would have had a long career ahead of him if you boys hadnt singled him out on the T like you did earlier. Who do you think will be the first man they try and stand up now.this talk from you boys just made a player a marked m All an.

#2 made hisself a marked man by the way he plays on the field not all the talk about him

I actually think the other RBs may run harder than him. 2 is fast though. I'd like to see him race your 16 and 7. They are really fast as well.

Let me ask you a quesiton. Do you think this Marshall man and Grider could let these 3 boys race the 50 yard dash before the game like they do in that jamboree so we can see who the fastest boy is? I garuntee you this will be a real good race. You think im joking but im not.

be there friday night you will probally get to see them chase each other

I garuntee you Grider has our boys lifting alot of weights this week so we can be real strong for the game Friday. I was reading in my Murphy Fair book about these blockers for Gordonsville. They have 4 really good boys. They have that Coen boy that is 6'3 250lbs. This Coen boy was a football finalist last year. My book says some colleges are looking at him right now. They also have this Payne boy that is 6'4 245lbs. My book says this Payne boy has really quick feet. Does that Marshall man make him chase chickens to make his feet quick? They also have this Swaim boy that is 5'11 205 lbs and this Garciaromo boy that is 6'4 250lbs. Three of these boys are big enough to play in the SEC. Grider better train our boys to stay real low so they can nock a hole for our runners to run through. You think im joking but im not.

Looking forward to a great game! Thanks to DTC Communications for webstreaming it!

I may not make the whole game so it is nice to have an option if Travelling. I enjoyed the visit last year but it would have been nice to be in Beene for once.

I know this will be tough but no one thought we would get to Cookeville last year & we did. Wayne County had a special team last year & beat us fair & square & we had a strong experienced team. This year we are young & if we give it all we have, I like our chances. Win or lose, Pirates will NOT quit! Let's go P!! It's the playoffs baby! It's what you practice for all year long. Leave it all out there on the field!

Go P!!!

    • Deja vu all over again, 7 yrs apart. SMDH Does anybody talk to each other?
    • OK, well, that’s because two quarterbacks can’t start. That’s football 101. The main quarterback won the starting job, so he was on varsity, and the Seymour transfer did not win the starting job. He played some varsity. He was mainly junior varsity, and he balled out when healthy, so for the starting quarterback who’s been starting varsity since his freshman year, if you have any form of proof that he’s gotten worse, somehow, whether that means stats or whatnot, please feel free to share.
    • They’ve both gotten worse. I’ve seen enough games to know that.
    • The only two transfers that Bearden has gotten that went on to play college football were a defensive back from Karnes, who transferred here way before the new coaching staff got here, and a running back from Carter, who went on to play at Maryville College. Both players received those offers while at Bearden, and both players got a diploma from Bearden High School. Therefore, they are Bearden kids, and you can’t do anything about that.   The transfer from Seymour didn’t win the job, what do you expect two quarterbacks to start at the same time? He played great on JV when he could stay healthy, and when he came in on varsity, he did great. The quarterback position is definitely going to be in good hands when the current starting quarterback leaves, but until then, they’re just going to be battling it out like every good quarterback competition does. The current starting quarterback has his flaws, and that is in the pass game, but what he doesn’t have flaws is running and scrambling, and if you go back and watch any game, which I’m sure you didn’t watch any, we used him very often, and when we needed a deep ball, we brought in the transfer from Seymour. The starting quarterback last year will be a senior this year, and the Seymour transfer will be a junior, so the Seymour transfer is definitely going to get his spotlight. He may even win the job this year. Football isn’t about who the newspaper thinks is the best kid. The best kid in the position will win the starting job, and I trust the coaching staff more than a newspaper or article to pick my starting QB.
    • I mean, we’ve only gotten two transfers that went on to play college football, one who went to UT Martin came his second semester junior year before the new coaching staff was here, and the other one went on to play at Maryville College, in which I don’t believe he had any interest prior to transferring.
