CAK vs. Milan ( This Bradley man vs. this Morris man)

hey football dad I noticed we both had almost all seniors starting. Yall have a good class coming up?

It depends on your perspective. Compared to the classes we have seen come through CAK the past 3-4 years the upcoming classes have a ways to go to measure up. Like GVK said, we have had some elite level players during this time period with a couple state and national record breakers, and a couple of D1 commitments. But every year I have been surprised how some of the kids have grown and developed. We'll see, but realistically it will be rebuilding year.

CAK has a lot of work to do to be at that level next year. Despite what some have said, there is definitely some talent coming back and they will be strong again next year IMO. The O line has 2 returning starters including D1 prospect 6-5.5, 300# OL P. Dalton. #3 will likely get the QB job, and has a very strong arm. #6 and #15 will be very good WR's, and both got a lot of playing time this year. #4 and #9 both would make for an excellent option at RB. The Warriors will have a number of defensive players returning who saw playing time this year, and they will be a year older and stronger.

The concern is that the last couple of years, we have had not just good talent, but some elite HS talent. Not meaning to sound cocky, but I think a reasonable evaluation is that CAK and Alcoa were at a little different level than the majority of 3A. It remains to be seen if the Warriors have that level of talent, and in the quantities that they did the last 2 years. But even if they don't, they will still win a lot of games. The difficulty of the schedule is another reason for concern to Warrior fans.

I'll summarize that IMO, CAK will be a factor in 3A, but it remains to be seen if enough younger kids can step up to the point that the Warriors can compete with the top tier of the division.

Very interesting post, I appreciate the info!

CAK's freshmen class is about as talented as they come. I wouldn't dare argue they have elite level D1 talent, but as a whole, should end up being one of the 2 or 3 best classes CAK has ever had, (edited to say the following) as long as the linemen grow the way I think they will. Add to them, 2 or 3 very good prospects for the line from the middle school this year. To top it all off, CAK hasn't had a player come up through the ranks like the MS QB since Charlie High and crew... We'll be just fine.

I have alot of doubts about my DAWGS!! 20 of 22 starters were seniors!!!

Sounds like it might be the makings of a bit tougher year than normal, but you guys seem to be contenders every year, and there has to be a reason for that. I'd hang on to that. At some point in the last 5 yrs I'm sure you could find similar losses to graduation that you were able to overcome.

That's the thing about this coaching staff... great at molding players. When I was in 8th grade at Milan we went 1-7. My senior year... we were state champs. We may take our lumps to start with, but come playoff time... we will be ready. Another state championship appearance?? Who knows, but they will be a tuff team!!!

Love your positive enthusiasm and evaluation :thumb: However, I don't believe that will translate into the results we are accustom to for next year. Thus, my reference to next year being a rebuilding year. I hope I am proven wrong. But with the schedule and graduation I see this upcoming year being tough.

No question, I was referring to the statement of "Compared to the classes we have seen come through CAK the past 3-4 years the upcoming classes have a ways to go to measure up". I think if you stick around a little while longer, I think you'll be right back to what you're accustomed to shortly! No one will read this post in a couple years, so I'll go ahead and go on record saying I think this freshman class will win a State Title when they're seniors, with the MS QB at the helm, and a lowly freshman named Howell catching balls :thumb: Hopefully our Alcoa brothers, and the McClurg twins over there, don't read this thread... :? haha

    • Oh yeah, I’m sure you are different people just always on the same thread for some reason, always agreeing with each other, perhaps just a bunch of dorks who would like to ###### and moan about high school football coaches do a lot of other students, so you make a football team and get a yell at them. When they do something wrong, but I’m sure you don’t like that, do you?   and I’m sure I’m aware of where you get information. A teacher who was on the coaching staff but was fired after the new coaching and staff came in and realized he actually had to start taking his assistant job a little bit more seriously than just wanting to make a little extra cash on the side, hardly even showing up to most practices, should’ve left with his buddy to go to Farragut. I’m sure he could get him a defensive coaching job, but I doubt he will be there in three years. Looking at the way Farragut is currently going.
    • It may be hard to believe but there’s more people than me that think you guys are a bunch of losers.    I’m sure the coaching staff, yourself included, cursed at a bunch of high school students. Nobody could name more than 3 coaches on staff due to the constant turnover.
    • That's complete BS.  Nobody at ACHS has access to CHS student records unless a transfer is made from CHS to ACHS.
    • Trez's last scandal has died down, so I guess this is there opportunity to be the best 4A team playing in 2A a la Sissy MTN.  At least they won't be in a Z-district with 1a teams in the regular season.
    • Facts...until someone takes down the Rebels they should be the favorite. Got loads of young guys salivating at the opportunity to prove themselves and get a 3peat! Blazer how is Region 1 looking this year?
