SEC1rules
Though not as speedy as the other players mentioned, Randoiph is not slow!! Don't forget that there are Thompson #1 and Thompson #2 in that speedy category. GO BIG RED I agree. Randolph has played well the last couple of years. I think he will be a fine QB next year if he is the starter. If he isn't the kid deserves a shot somewhere on the field.
MSURacer
Counce loves his seniors, and with Randolph having the only real varsity QB experience on the roster, I'd be somewhat surprised if he doesn't enter the spring as the clear favorite. But I've been wrong before, so I'll let the coaches do their job. I will agree with olddevil and SEC. He has pretty good speed and has mostly played well when given the opportunity. Not to mention, he would have plenty of "toys" to work with on offense, both in the backfield and on the outside. He wouldn't have to be Marsalis or Najee to be successful. I'm not really worried about the offense. I think we'll score plenty. More curious to see the defense than anything. They really started coming along late in the year, and with so many guys back, I'm hoping that carries over to create the same tenacity we've become used to seeing. waveyard14
As it stands, we only lose a handful of starters on either side of the ball. Most of our O-line should be back, both receivers, and two very good running backs who will be juniors. Then on defense, I believe we only lose 2 or 3 guys. There will be a lot more experience, but I think the biggest difference next year will be depth. Unless a ton of kids quit, all 3 varsity classes will be good both in numbers and talent. Biggest question mark right now is quarterback. We lost a very good athlete there. We always seem to be fine at that position though. Place kicker is another. Our all time leading PAT kicker graduated, but our kickoff specialist and punter are both very good, and both of them return. thanks for the info. sounds like yall should be pretty good next year. who are the two backs? i heard hc fans mention them alot this year. they getting any early looks as prospects? i'd like to see us get hc on the schedule at some point in the future once we're back up....hard to beat seeing a game in paris... i remember our playoff game there in 09. great atmosphere. and i made the trip two straight weeks to see yalls playoff games against ridgeway and hville a couple years ago. that hc team was as tough a team as i can remember... and they showed it in the state championship game too. Thanks for the kind words. As for the two running backs, the ones you heard everyone referring to are Chase Henderson and Keshun Love. It's still very early, so their futures are an unknown at this point, but both were terrific players as sophomores and should continue to improve. Henderson didn't start until either the 3rd or 4th game, and still ended up with over 1,000 yards and 17 touchdowns. I don't know the final stat line for Love, but he played very well pretty much every time he got on the field, and by many accounts, is one of the fastest players to ever put on a Patriot uniform. I think of it like a "Thunder and Lightning" or "Smash and Dash" effect between the two, as Henderson is big and strong (with some good speed to boot), while Love is small but extremely quick. I'm not sure I've ever made a trip to the wave yard, but I hear it's a great place for high school football as well. I agree that HC-Gallatin would be a solid outing, and I believe we attempted getting a home-and-home started with Gallatin a couple years back but ended up with Beech (someone can correct me if this is wrong). None the less, maybe it will happen in the future. Good luck to Gallatin in the coming years.
tandem
Simply heart breaking to see the end of the rivalry with Dickson County as far as we all know it! That game has been played every year since 1977 and was as even of a rivalry over the years as one could ever hoped for! Know that every possible avenue was exhausted on Henry County's end to keep this game on the schedule for the forseeable future. Unfortunately, the importance and passion for this game was not shared by our Dickson County bethren which is equally heart breaking! Also, it might be worthy to note, Henry County was not Beech's first choice either to retain on its schedule. Nonetheless, they did agree to another 2 years of playing the Patriots. WE better hope that each Clarksville High School starts to experience some good fortune in football as well as Springfield!...we need the support of these schools to help further our program....which traditionally, the support has been plain ol' poor! Love them or hate them, hats off to Liberty! That's one team you don't have to worry about their motives or plans....they simply want to play! Thank you Crusaders! If HC "was not Beech's first choice...to retain on its schedule", who was their first choice?

QBClubPrez
If HC "was not Beech's first choice...to retain on its schedule", who was their first choice? Apparently McGavock was 1st on the Buc's list. HC was first informed that the Patriots/Bucs series would not continue...then the following Monday..the game was back on..we assume McGavock declined the Beech offer. Nonetheless..congrats on the gold ball! Well earned and well deserved!!

I'd say the game next year will do the same thing for one of the teams.

I was really hoping for a playoff rematch just to see how much we, particularly the defense, had improved. With Hurd and Carter back, we should find out pretty quickly next year. Good luck and congrats on the 2nd gold ball. Very humble and classy bunch you all have over there, none were more deserving.
