Deion24
I agree with MLREB...Randall Cobb is a good ball player but in high school at Alcoa there was so many great players through the years. You could tell Randall was capable of great things though! As far as just high school playing goes...Shannon Mitchell, Billy Williams, Al Davis, James Rainer, Brandon Warren, Michael George, Jarrod Toney, ....and many more as far as from Alcoa! Alcoa also had some great lineman that everyone forgets about! Carl Stewart and Arron Douglas were very good high school football players! Maryville and Alcoa could field some " all-time greatest" teams that would just be insane!

MSURacer
Best I've seen with my own eyes: Al Wilson (Jackson Central-Merry) Patrick Willis (Bruceton) Jalen Hurd (Beech)
howdoitknow
It's wild to look back at some of these great names. Reggie White and John Henderson were great NFL Defensive Linemen who play high school football in the state of Tennessee and went on to play college football at the University of Tennessee before going on to have great NFL careers. Al Wilson also played in the state of Tennessee and at UT before going on to have a very solid NFL career as a linebacker. Patrick Willis played in the state before attending college at Ole Miss and is now one of the best defensive players in the entire NFL. Randall Cobb played in the state and went on to the University of Kentucky and now is one of the elite receivers in the NFL. Harrison Smith played in the state and went on to play college ball at Notre Dame (where he did have real "girl friends") and is now one of better young safeties in the entire NFL. Chad Clifton was an offensive lineman from the state who played at UT and went on to become an all-pro tackle in the NFL. There are so many other examples that I am sure I have overlooked. A huge shout out to the poster who started this topic and to those who have shined on the gridiron on Friday nights (and beyond) for the great state of Tennessee. GCPioneer
Al Wilson - JCM as someone has stated Kelcey Williams - Humboldt - just couldn't stay out of trouble, one of the best ever out of west TN. Ramon Foster - Ripley - played at Tennessee in college, now with the Steelers Chris Donald - Huntingdon - Awesome HS player, but didn't make it at UT. Was the #2 rated LB in the nation going into his senior year. He stayed injured most of his senior year. His junior year was phenomenal and really boosted his stock going into his senior year
Indian
Chris Donald was doing well at Chattanooga after transferring, just had too many injuries to continue.

Mr. Football in 2003 and had several SEC offers but decided to stay close to home in Memphis. Was a projected 2nd-3rd NFL draft pick before suffering a career ending neck injury in college. He had lots of potential.
