TigerPride23
Oh wow. Definitely not as good as the first match up.
tigerfans2013
I just don't like how DC played
dctiger
First game without Howell last time we had to beat Smith, a team with no winas at the time, with a putback. Just have to adjust...once again. The Blevins kid from York is going to be lighting up this district for three more years, though. I was very impressed. Tonight definitely was not all DC playing badly. York has made great strides with a very young team. I see them at the top of the district next year. DC is still learning how to handle having the target on their back night in and night out. You always get everyone's best game... Realistically, we probably can't win district or region without some people stepping up in a major way, but if LA can beat Upperman at home and we can hold on to first even if Cannon beats us, our chances are better. After hearing about how close Cannon played Upperman tonight I am concerned about the game there, however.
Stealer007
Nobody said it was going to be easy. The Tigers always seem to find a way to win. That says alot. Our post play is great our guards have to step up. Just dont count this group out of anything . Their experienced and winners and they never win pretty. So they play you to 4 points and you are ready to crown them top in the district next year?!? I do think that DC will hold on and take the top seed because I think LA will win a close one Friday given its @ LA. But the tourney time (District/Region) will belong to LA/Upp., I just tend to agree with "rabbitranch" DC won't beat either without Howell. I know the score was close but how was the 1st game with Cannon? Did Howell play in that one? dctiger
First of all, I'm crowning them first BECAUSE of what their bringing back, and how the freshman stepped up. Who else in the district is bringing back four starters? (at least I think it's four, if not its three.) Is that really such an preposterous prediction? Believe it or not, I don't base EVERYTHING of of DeKalb and have a genuine interest in our district as a whole. Also, the game between UHS and LA is in Livingston. Just a little fun fact about our home game with Upperman: we beat them, in OT, without Howell. And if I've heard correctly, Upperman shot around 40 free throws that game. Now I'm not taking anything away from their victory Friday night. Heck, we lost by 28 last year to them over there yet still won two out of three on the season...they just have great home court advantage. You're saying that District will belong to LA/UHS, yet predicting an LA victory Friday. If the standings hold, they will meet in the District semis, and one could travel in Region. Either way it all falls, the tourney will be very interesting and I wish the best of luck to everyone! As for our home game with Cannon, we were up by 9 or 11 with about a minute left, but their desperation threes started falling, and they made it interesting. That game, also, was without Howell. No one is writing them off, Tuesday night, believe me. I wouldn't be a bit surprised if they get the W in Woodbury.
dctiger
Also, sportswatcher, if YOU were looking at next season, what team would you pick to win District?
TigerPride23
I was about to say we beat Upperman without Howell once already. Everyone is making a huge deal out of it. I will admit LA will be difficult without him, though. He has been the game changer both times.
dctiger
I agree. He just seemed to be a difficult matchup for LA.
tigerfans2013
If Atnip or Fullilove has a bad game then DC loses to any good team. I believe Howell is the only guard who can score at will. The reason I say if Fullilove or Atnip has a bad game is bc what guard can score? SportsWatcher931
If I were to be honest, Upperman IMO is going to be tough next year. I do think that LA will be right there though. I think Cannon returns quite a bit. And as long as Martin is at DC I expect them to be in the mix. So I think Yok will finish 4 or 5 but definitely not higher than 3rd.
