woodvegas
I don't see how any human ref could have called that with 100% confidence either way in real time. Both of the refs that are visible in the video including one right next to the shooter immediately raised their arms indicating the shot was good. Maybe it was 0.1 seconds late but that's just too close to call and for all we know the clock keeper started the clock 0.2 seconds early.
LA_Wildcats
via my Twitter feed - Ball still in the hand? Looks like it! Check clock upper right! Yea its in her hand. And if there was video evidence allowed it wouldnt have been counted. But thanks to the TSSAA theres not any so all we have is the pairs of eyes that are wearing a zebra costume and a real time view. Two of the three called it good in real time so thats what they had to go with. From the way it sounds they wernt great tonight anyway for either team and had things been different earlier in the game who knows what could have happened. Best of luck to Cannon in the State till you meet LA in the final. And I wish McMinn Central the best of luck next season y'all have a great team, coach, and a amazing fan base. Looking forward to the game monday at LA.
TwinCityT
Guess thats why they have the red light behind the backboard in college and pros. Could be wrong...but doesn't the offical go by the horn not the clock? What should haunt MC is why was defender 10-12 feet away.
FootballFan51
As an unbiassed observed, the clock was definitely at 0.0 when she launched it, but it was sooo close, that I can see how humans could have missed it. It was a fantastic shot, but I hate that somebody's season ended that way.
aziz
Wow that was awesome it looks like she didnt get it off in time but it happens and from what I read the calls were bad all game but off subject a little I am lmao at the guy who fell and it looks like some lady's trying to get the team out of there quickly please tell me you have more video of the game you can post CHARGERFANFORLIFE it looked like a championship game and atmosphere. Also I feel awful for the team that lost I could see the heartbreak on some of their faces I don't know how you get over this but I pray you will and good luck to the team going to state I just couldn't say the team that won, aw heck they're all winners in my book, great ballplayers. Indian
When it's that close you don't penalize the team that is ahead at the time, it should go against the team that's behind unless it's obviously good. Bad call.
Gerry Bertier
The shooters reaction is what tells me she didn't get it off in time. She is walking if dejected then turns around in disbelief and starts to celebrate once she sees the refs signal. Also those posters who say quit whining, please just get off the board. This is a legit discussion about the end if the game. No one is whining, just some frustrated fans and after watching the video I don't blame them. TigerPride23
I can see how upset it would make you definitely, but with the score so close it looks like both teams were deserving of the win. If you're a ref and you are watching this live in person then it's alot harder to call than it is for us. I don't know about everyone else, but I've sat and watched the replay a few times over and over and paused it and what not. Refs don't even get a second look at all. dctiger
In slo mo, it's definitely easy to tell that the shot was late. In real time, during the game, with only one look, I can completely understand why the ref would signal for a shot that close AND from that far to at least have a chance. I know it's already been said, and that it doesn't take away the hurt of losing, but it just stinks that someone's season had to end on a note like that. You almost would rather lose by fifty... TigerPride23
I do wonder about a point that was made earlier. Why was the nearest defender so far away? It looked like they were already thinking of celebration. (I know who wouldn't) But I would've thought they'd press down the court and force them to not be able to take a last second shot like that.
