Oh yeah, i am sure they will, KPT....I bet he keeps Coach Younger though. they are big buddies..Coached together a long time.

^i bet gaddis brings back the old helmet decals.

Funny you say that...There was made a Gaddis page on FB a few mos agao to help bring him back..Over a 1000 OR fans are on it..I just posted a pic of our old helmet on it and said "Bring this back too, Coach!!!!!" lol...I'm with you. I think he will, without a doubt..He is very conscious of our traditions, and that is a big one.

I love Oak Ridge football & its tradition, but those decals were very outdated. Decals on a helmet don't matter as long as you win. Great hire, I'm sure the Ridge will win a state championship in the coming years.

 

Absolutely! Walking on Blankenship still moves me after 30 years, I love the tradition, but it's just a decal, the players like it, and we need to allow them to add their own to the tradition as well.

First things first, Congratulations Oak Ridge!

 

Second, with this hire will improvements be made to the field and facilities there? A shuttle from the high side to the low for us OLD folks would be nice seeing as y'all can't install an escalator. LOL

 

Third, will this mean a return of Bounder cooking ribs?!?!?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

      RR, you might remember. Didn’t someone hide the kicking shoe that game? It seems I remember we had missed a kick the week before, and we needed all the points we could get. We thought we had a better chance going for two, so $?&@$ hid the shoe after the first miss that game. No one on our sideline looked for it very hard.

      I will never forget the 1983 Heritage vs Maryville game. I remember driving home and listening to WGAP. Can't remember the announcers name. He asked Coach Story why he kept going for 2? Story told him " Why didn't you ask Renfro that last year"

      Well nothing new, the Mustangs are really talented again this coming season!  They very well could go undefeated in regular season.  We shall see what happens in postseason.  I think the path to state title game is a little clearer than years past.  I think the Stangs are going to be really good and I think the traditional teams around in 2A are not going to be as strong.  It should be a fun season!
