US News rates the school very favorably.  Not sure about the football program but you can't go wrong with a great education.

Heard their program is off to a good start this year. Led by Bobby Lamb, who used to be the Head Coach at Furman. Couldnt agree more. Great decision by Caleb

I heard in the meanwhile that Mercer will join the SoCon for all sports, including scholarship football in 2014 - of which Furman is a member along with ut-C, Samford, etc. if the plan is still in place.  

 

Good luck to the rest of the college bound seniors.  There are some very good students in this year's senior class of athletes in Rutherford County.  Kids that take advanced honors and A.P.

I'm hearing that Austin Barrett from Oakland is also leaning toward Mercer as well even after his recent offers. He just received offers from Indiana State and Georgia Southern which gives him 8 total offers.

That would be a huge get for Mercer to get both of those guys. Barrett was 7AAA lineman MVP last year.

I saw some recruiting website list him as "class of 2015" - (?) 

 

Wasn't he a junior at Blackman last year?  Does that not make him class of 2014... or since Lancaster is not TSSAA, can he play until any age without regulations??
