The thing I love most about High School sports is that anything can happen. I do not want to take any credit from LC beccause they played extremely well but what I saw from the Humboldt coaching staff and the players after going up 25-0, was a team that just simply quit. Again, not taking anything thing from LC because they brought it the entire night.

Now, on to the UC game. Please, please do not expect the same team. Humboldt does get a little lazy at times, but they have the ability to take the game completely over. I am not saying that they will do this, but they have the ability with 3 or 4 players. Humboldt has not played a team that will run it right down their throats, so I am very interested in seeing how it goes.

I can see how people would want to post a score of UC by 2 or 3 scores, but don't jump the gun. Let the boys play the game. Its going to be a hard hitting slug fest if you ask me. If Humboldt can throw the ball like I know they are capable, the run game will open up. I am going to say that Humboldt's QB play will be very critical in this one on the offensive side. Humboldt's LB's are going to have to stop getting sucked in to the middle. They are getting tied up in the line and can't get out to make a play.

As far as NCS, you have no dog in this race. you have had a total of 3 winning seasons in the last 10 years.  I  would have went back farther but I think I have proved my point.  no disrespect, just stating facts.

Trust me my friend, the UC fan base is not making any predictions on the margin of victory. We know we are in a battle and will play like that. The 2 or 3 score predictions are coming from observers and fans of other teams. The Tornadoes have respect for the Vikings and know how to prepare for a team of this caliber. Your team is not the only one guilty of falling asleep. Since the Huntingdon game we have not had a real challenge until now. We must play every second of every down to be successful in this one.

just trolling but man that hurts. Dresden wasn't a challenge. Great bulletin board material if we meet again.

BigSwo, you are so correct that's why you play the game, you can't compare how one team played another team because it all about mathups, turnovers & game planning. This football team reminds me of the basketball team last year, played terrible & lost against teams they should have beat but when it came down to needing a big win always stepped up to the challenge. Hopefully, it will be a good game Friday & a injury free game because these two (2) teams could meet again down the road.

That's what I was wondering?

Swo, what size kids do y'all have in the backfield this year? Any Nicks or Hyde up there....?

No sir we don't have a Nicks or Hyde. In fact I dare say that we have any single player that is dominant. We play more like a team now. If I were going to single out any aspect of our team it has to be the line play on both sides of the ball. That's it in a nutshell in my opinion. Now don't get me wrong we have some fine football players. These guys all play hard. I think it works out better for us this way. In the past you could focus on a big strong fullback like Nicks or Hyde but this team can strike from any where and that is because of the line play. We have also changed up our formations and added some new wrinkles. It's exciting not to know who is getting the ball almost every play. You have to watch everything and just when you look the wtong way somebody comes out of a spot you didn't see and suddenly you are watching a guy grind down the field for a good gain.

    • It was not ACHS at all, they have zero reason to worry about Clinton.  It had to do with a kid (non football player)  that had a charge and appeared in front of the juvenile judge.  The judge saw that the kid was way behind credit wise for his grade and told him to reappear in a month with a plan to graduate.  When the kid reappeared he had more that twice the credits than one month before.  The judge called BS and contacted the school.  That is what started the investigation.  This involves multiple students, but to this point no athletes are involved.
    • I believe the Covington Chargers travel to Trenton Peabody for a scrimmage today? Anyone going to this? Curious how the Chargers will do.
    • Good ole Bradley Zulliger. He was a really good QB @ OR. Fun to watch.  Wore #15 and was like a mini Tebow, with the exception of being right handed. He could take a pounding and keep on ticking. Played with a collapsed lung against Powell that year. Tough as nails.
    • They should be pretty good in year two for Rang.  Replacing most of the offensive production losing Dozier, Hayward and Rembert , but they're are skill kids in place ready for their shot.  I know I say this every year, but the o line should show improvement after two years in Rang and Kevin Day's weight program.  I still would favor West over Plow and OR come November.  The Rebs will have to grow up a bunch between now and then, and will probably take some lumps along the way with that schedule.  But I predict come playoff time they will be ready.   One of their coaches half joked to me that they could go 5-5 regular season and win the state championship.  Ha ha.
    • there will be a couple of teams, that could make some noise
