Football 54.....SP enrollment is 249. MC is 523 and about a bakers dozen from being in 3A. Meanwhile there are only 14 public schools smaller than SP that play football. So, if the TSSAA really lost their minds and went to 8A, SP would still be 1A. MC is more than double the size of SP.

Apparently you aren't up on your TSSAA football history.  Until 1993, Tennessee only had 3 classifications.  A, AA, AAA.  From 1983 through 1992 Jasper was AA.  There was a good size difference in a AA team and a smaller A school like SP or Lake County.  KC used to field some teams with a large string of players. Jasper beat Brentwood Academy in the 1992 AA state title games which is one of the all time title game classics.  Yet many of the games in those two 8-game streaks weren't won by much.  In the 1a, 2a, 3a, 4a, and 5a system, Jasper was 3a and won a couple of titles in that system.  It wasn't until recently that you guys dropped to 2a and even then you are one of the large 2a schools.  That is what I meant by that.  SP currently has around 245 students and is one of the smaller 1a schools.
