Sportyz
Also its not just Riverdale, Blackman, and Oakland, Smyrna has had 4 transfers come from Lavergne and Oakland and people were not happy about it but the rules were followed leaving 1player to sit out a year and 2 kids had to miss some games but they did it by the rules and now they have some top 9th graders who would have gone to Lavergne but moved to go to Smyrna because lets face it Lavergne is at the bottom of the division so look to see Smyrna in the mix these coming years also Siegel lost their nationally ranked player Paris Lawson to Lancaster but nobody cares unless your at the top but the fact is its all possible under TSSAA rules. granddadone
Looks like Riverdale has opened the flood gates for many other schools in the middle Tennessee area. Soon school spirit and loyalty will mean very little as far as sports go. I would guess that the TSSAA and (maybe even the NAACP) will begin to scrutinize some parents , coaches and schools much more diligently. Using the logic of some people in this thread, I was recruited to Riverdale. My ex-wife became terminally ill, I had to choose a place to live to be close to my family and hers, and I had to raise our 3 children alone, be close to work, close to their school, and be close to their mother, in a nursing home. I am a Smyrna graduate, and Smyrna would have been closer to my office in Nashville. But their mother and her family and mine lived in Murfreesboro. I chose the school closest to her nursing home. Riverdale. My oldest son never played football in his life, growing up playing soccer. He tried out for football at Riverdale his freshman year because a couple of his friends told him he should. He went on to be the kicker on the 97 State Championship team. Amazing how the coaching staff knew he could kick kickoffs 5 yards out of the back of the endzone before he ever attended school there or tried out for the team. People vote with their feet. For a laundry list of reasons.

Uh.....grandadone..........you ever seen a pep rally at Riverdale???? Probably one of the most school spirited things you will ever see. This school wreaks of "school spirit", all the way from the principal on down. If you call the school, you will be greeted by a sound that is similar to an Indian war dance (Like Florida States war chant). Here is a video of the seniors doing the CHOP during this football season. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vgOGznIdxDM&list=UUe4fiL1WOwEF-H-e9V3TpkA Here is another cool pep rally video! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XrKUvTXtMuA&feature=c4-overview-vl&list=PL9260962E3F6D0C01 Here is a video of the half time dancers at a Riverdale Pep Rally http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RBLXgcMhaMM Here are the 2013 National Champs doing their version of the Harlem Shake http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QTcHb7apTOw&list=PLhAbdHsqXV_PDwztTrj7odlyqyYaSrkJJ Last but not least...here is Principal Tom Nolan this weekend getting a Mohawk and getting ready for the 2013 ESPN and M A X P R E P S National Campion Riverdale Lady Warriors basketball season for their state championship and national championship title defense! School spirit is and not a problem at Riverdale. It starts from the top of the administration! Edited November 4, 2013 by Brandon100
Indian
I think he means school spirit among those leaving their.schools, teammates, and friends behind even though they will be recruited through AAU more than where they play in high school. WarriorFan
Principal Nolan looks good in his Notre Dame shirt. Is he the basketball team's top recruiter? Most school spirited and loved principal among students, administration and parents that I have ever seen https://twitter.com/nolan_tom Edited November 4, 2013 by Brandon100
