William Blount offseason thread

I am just anxious to see how the defense looks against a good team. I am confident that the offense will be good barring key injuries.

William Blount will get tested this Friday. Catholic had a scrimmage against who should've been the 5A state champs West Friday and if I'm not mistaken scored 3 TDS against Wests mighty defense and west only scored 1 before the second third team came in

While you can take a little bit from a scrimmage in terms of how kids look and depth I wouldn't take much from a spring scrimmage in terms of how the rest of the season ends up playing out. It's just that. A spring scrimmage. People get way too bent out of shape over scrimmages in my opinion.

^ I know what ya mean but at the same time a scrimmage can serve as indicator of how far you are from where ya need to be. If WB can compete with Catholic or even beat them in the scrimmage there will be some reason for optimism for the 2014 season.

Since they no longer play during the season, why wouldn't wb and alcoa scrimmage either in the spring or fall? Seems like a no-brainer. I bet WB's new coach would be interested. Would alcoa do it?

I dunno. I dont really like Alcoa. I wouldn't want Ole Gary Rankin telling the papers that we are "dirty as crap" if we play them tough or beat them.

All that gamesmanship would be part of the entertainment! A scrimmage in the fall between those two schools should definitely cause everybody to tighten their chinstraps.

 

How did the younger govs look in the intrasquad?

They looked good. Alot of younger kids made some big plays. It was really competitive.
