South Pitt vs. Fayetteville (Moore man against this Palmer man)

SP plays the weakest team left in the playoffs.  However, the fact that Fayetteville got this far says something.  There's no doubt that SP lost focus against Moore due to the refs picking on them, but that's no excuse.  A team that brings home the gold ball needs to be able to stay focused no matter what the refs are doing.  In a way SP did regroup and pull together for a 4th quarter scoring drive, so give them credit for that.  I hope that serves as momentum going into this Friday's game.

Sand those refs...always against SP

Sand those refs...always against SP

it got to be comical. Not just us. They called in eligible on a screen pass behind the line. But the topper was after signaling end of game , one of them threw a flag on something a Moore player said to him...benches had already run onto the center of the field. They were the gang that couldn't shoot straight. Actually both teams were hosed. Edited by TheBlackPearl

They better...or they'll be looking back thinking what could have been

I got faith that they will

GO PIRATES!!!

it was humorous to say the least? Backs running plays they run all year bumping into each other like the three stooges? Then still running for twenty yards and then a ref with the napolien complex throws a flag walks over to the Chunky dude with the white hair and ask him "what's the call". Hahahaha lmcdao I was just smh? Go pirates - get it right this week boys- send a message heads on straight and pound the rock!

I can honestly say for the first time in years I haven't seen any team that can stop the Pirates from running the ball. Everyone thinks that they just take off around the ends but our line is opening holes between the tackles. It has been impressive. Defensively why did we go back to the three man line. It may work if you have a 300lb nose guard that takes up 3 positions but I think the 4 man line is a better fit for our team.

That 3 man stuff proved a disaster against veer type teams in 2009 & 2011.

    • Well nothing new, the Mustangs are really talented again this coming season!  They very well could go undefeated in regular season.  We shall see what happens in postseason.  I think the path to state title game is a little clearer than years past.  I think the Stangs are going to be really good and I think the traditional teams around in 2A are not going to be as strong.  It should be a fun season!
    • I would not put too much stock into the UH over Eagleville. From what I understand they were pretty banged up in that tourney. Catcher was out, they were throwing pretty deep in their bullpen and a few key players were beat up in their infield. Sounds like they are pretty healthy heading into the district tournament. Look at their schedule, they played some really good teams.
