I have known Mac for over 40 years. I feel for the players and the school. There is a lot more to this case and it is not good

Why would the kids get punished? Did they do anything wrong?

Unfortunately, the players get punished because the program gets punished. We had a probation situation happen at GCA a couple of years ago. The kids had nothing to do with what happened, but were put on 2 year playoff ban. The players suffer along with students, teachers, parents, school and coaching staff. Good luck to Marion Co, I know it will be an uphill climb.

You can bet he will be invited to the "reunion."  He may be the "guest of honor."  He even lied to one of his old team mates about the vandalism.  Look at the text transcripts.

What exactly did McCurry do to the other programs he was at?

There was some vandalism issues and other things at Moore Co.  He was at Signal when they got in to it with the Childress mess.  He got investigated by the TSSAA due to irregularities with spring practice in 2012 when he first arrived in Jasper.

He was also the coach of Crockett County for about a month. Never coached a game, though.

I think as long as coaches have said what they said in good faith they will be alright. I will not erase anything I have said.  This is a bad deal, but it will all work out in the end.  To the coaches that were involved, don't give up, learn from this and move on.  I have been through some things no one would probably even would not imagine.   When people tell you it could be worse, believe me it can.  When people tell you it will get better it will.  If what we do does not make us more humane, I am not sure if it is worth doing.
