MHS the better team clearly, better coaching and better players 1-24. Players get overlooked in the GQ era because of his superior coaching but they always have excellent players. They were not overmatched at all athletically by Blackman.But congrats to Blackman - by far the best team MHS has played this year.

Congrats to Maryville! What can you say! Maryville is a great program. Very disciplined very well coached and you can go on and on! Best wishes next week in Cookville!! Congrats to Blackman on a nice year and making it to the semifinals for the first time!

Big difference in experience and Coaching. Sometimes having that is more important than talent.

Certainly Blackman has some tremendous athletes, but I still say looking at the total group, 1-24 Maryville has better players, GQ coaching edge is a given. There is a difference in PLAYER and ATHLETE. Old school example: Dominique Wilkins better ATHLETE, Larry Bird better PLAYER.

Just got home. Blackman is one fine football team. They are definitely bigger and faster than Maryville. Maryville won on the skill and poise under fire that has became their trademark.

 

I feel sure that this is the game that was for the state championship.
