  Johnson Co ran away with it. Jake Lyons won the 165 weight clall and the overall light weight division. Several kids did well in the deadlift, big boys didn't do to well in the bench press. I'm glad bench press has very little to do with football. We're young overall,so we should do much better next year. They just have to stay comitted.

This went just about as we had discussed earlier....Bench-press went to another school and our smaller kids dead-lifted as much or more weight as the bigger classes did...Would have been interesting to see our kids compete in a power clean competition too.

This went just about as we had discussed earlier....Bench-press went to another school and our smaller kids dead-lifted as much or more weight as the bigger classes did...Would have been interesting to see our kids compete in a power clean competition too.

  And deadlift is a better overall test of real strength, it also shows who has true grit.If you are not willing to fight like a madman,don't fool with the deadlift. I'm happy with the results,

A pretty good 1st day I hear......I imagine things are getting ready to heat up quiet a bit amongst this unit....Especially between the more competitive kids! As brothers, leaders and DOGS, that's exactly as it should be. :thumb:

Will do! I kinda expected a few thoughts from ole Pujo! Hope that ole skillet slinger doesnt have him bound and gagged! :popcorneater:

  I'm hearing pretty much everything thats going and it sounds positive to me.Starting positions are up for grabs at several spots.We should know ALOT more by Friday.Looks won't get get it, gotta find the toughest kids who are willing to sell out every play.I'm sure we'll have a few good looking kids on the sidelines. As always,positions will be EARNED. Heart,Pride and Comittment is the recipe. Going to be interesting.I just hope we have dedication over the next 3 months,if so,we should be a handful. Call me cautiously optimistic.

  Hearing ALOT of good things, starting for this bunch is gonna be a chore, that just means we have good depth for a small school. Got some very impressive young kids and 3 or 4 kids who didn't play last year. Its gonna be fun watching all this unfold. Aug 22ond can't get here quick enough. Should be a fun year in Hampton land.

I was glad to hear some of the kids, we spoke of months ago, are really coming with it....Some we weren't expecting  have  showed great promise. A hard working bunch of kids

      Well nothing new, the Mustangs are really talented again this coming season!  They very well could go undefeated in regular season.  We shall see what happens in postseason.  I think the path to state title game is a little clearer than years past.  I think the Stangs are going to be really good and I think the traditional teams around in 2A are not going to be as strong.  It should be a fun season!

      I would not put too much stock into the UH over Eagleville. From what I understand they were pretty banged up in that tourney. Catcher was out, they were throwing pretty deep in their bullpen and a few key players were beat up in their infield. Sounds like they are pretty healthy heading into the district tournament. Look at their schedule, they played some really good teams.
