I have a question about Dresden. I don't remember them being very good at all until recently. It seems like they were very bad for a long time. Did the economy change, drop in classifications, new school that attracted more kids? What changed it for them?

For quite a few years they played in the district with Milan, Trenton, etc.  The district was loaded and according to many the best in the state.  Dresden just didn't have the players or athletes to compete and some might even say the coaching.  Without a doubt the biggest reason Dresden has shown up in the last three years is because of coaching.  They added Keith Hodge to the staff as offensive coordinator and then his brother came on as a volunteer asst. handling the defense.  Keith is now the head coach and his brother is the defensive coordinator.  Two great young football coaches.  They have turned the program around and the kids have bought in to what they are trying to do.  They have won the last 3 years and they have not been loaded with talent but the kids have worked so hard especially in the summer.  Now throw in some talented young kids and the next 3 years look really promising.  I honestly believe it is the coaching that has turned the program around.  Now the job is keeping them!

Dresden's turn around relates to coaching 120%. They did have a tough district when playing with the likes of Milan and others. Personally I think the Lions might be a little down (5 or 6 wins) next year. They will have tons of talent though but it will be young talent. 2015 and 2016 look out cause they will be special. The Winn kid is pretty amazing and he has lots of help around him.

Dresden's district (or region at that time) included Milan, Huntingdon, Westview, Humboldt, Trention, USJ, and Gibson Co.  All but Gibson Co. was a serious test!!  The district was insane tough!!!

Going into next season, UC are the State Champs and its theirs to lose next year.  That said, the Mustangs need to get there before talking smack.

No, they won't. You only lost 3 seniors last year from a state championship team. Union City should easily repeat. SP could possibly be a player in the east, but it doesn't matter because Union City will just be that dang good in 2014.
