2014 9-AAA Off Season Thread

Smyrna scrimmage TBA according to the web site (I am guessing 5:30 ish). Depends on how fast Smyrna gets here with traffic and everything. In addition to Smith they also have a DB named Williams being recruited by a lot of schools. As usual they will have a lot of athletes and a lot of speed. Anxious to see how see how our young players compete. When I get an exact time will publish.

How did the scrimmage go yesterday?

Major, H'ville and Smyrna play today. Looking forward to MJ vs Siegel next week. MJ is improving; but plenty to work on.

Hville comes out ahead 1's against 1's 4 TD's to 2 for Smyrna (no kicking of any kind). Smyrna added a late TD reserves against reserves. Hville had TD runs by Small, Towe, and Turner. Elston added a TD pass to Dillehay. Turner was leading rusher I would say with around 100 yds. Smyrna broke a long one early in the game (believe it was Kyle Smith) and another TD run when the 1's were playing. Slow start for Hville but overall not bad. We still have a long way to go to get to the level we want to be at. Bad injury for Smyrna middle of the first half as one of their D lineman appeared to have a serious lower leg injury. He was taken away by ambulance, hopefully not as bad as it looked. Totally different offense for the Bulldogs this year as they have gone to a 4 wide spread most of the time using the pistol set in the backfield. Took a while for Hville to get adjusted. Smyrna is really quick on D and pursues well. The DB Williams (#16) is a very good player. Back to work tomorrow to get better.

Thanks for the recap. Sounds like it was a pretty good outing for H'ville. All teams have a lot of improvement to do; but it is good to be able to hit other teams and get a feel for what you have accomplished and what you really need to work on.

Clarksville vs. Gallatin

 

Welcome Green Wave.

We will be playing on Clarksville's main field and will have full concessions opened for you all.

 

Parking may be a little tight, we also are hosting the District Championship for Girls Softball.

Lebanon has a scrimmage on 5/9 with Signal Mountain @ Lebanon.  And on 5/16 they will host Stewarts Creek.  Rising Sr. RB Taye Davis now has 3 offers from Army, WKU, & Austin Peay.
