It pretty much WAS over...then they pull another dido. Don't see a game in next 2 years anyway. Who knows after that?

It is silly to me Twan that we play our region games we have to play and then play Alcoa, Cookeville, Gordonsville and Warren, which will be improved this year, and some people think if we do play TC our schedule is weak. THERE IS A VALID REASON(S) WE DON'T PLAY TC. plain and simple.

I know...my friend. Alcoa & Cookeville would mash TC this year. Warren will be a tough team also. Look out for Cookeville. They are going to be good barring injury.

Cookeville already has one major injury and hearing it might be season long. If true, LA will be tough of those two games. My point is, Cannon county can go schedule Riverdale and Maryville...but what's that prove. They way the playoffs are currently set up, total wins play a major role. At least play teams, that might bigger clas or better teams, but you at least have a shot at winning. If not, your 0-2 before the season even begins. Wanna play Alcoa, go scrimmage them for that experince but not in the rtegular season until you cam compete.

and last season, I think Galatin was better than CHS, jut saying.

What's that got to do with this year? And Gallatin really wasn't. They lost to a 2a team. Very likely could this year also.

They are a mediocre 5a team at best. I would agree CHS was a mediocre 6a team last year. Not this year.

I think CHS will finish 2nd in the weakest district in 6a to Rhea Co. And that is with or with out the new kid I hear is out all year. They are better than last year, but not more than a couple games. I sree them at best getting to round 2 of the playoffs. And I wouldnt bet the house if they played TC they would win. Most likely, but not a given. Edited by UpperCumberlandMan

Your comments have nothing to do with people who think because we don't play TC we have a weak schedule. You are correct, total wins play a big part in playoffs.

Are you talking about Angel?

That mediocre 5-A team played in the quarterfinals last year. That's 2 games from a state championship appearance. Trousdale Co had one of their best teams ever ( in the top 10%) last year. Gallatin got a big boost the week before by beating a high powered Hendersonville team ( state runner-up) the week before. If anything Gallatin took TC very likely and got beat. Don't plan on it being the norm. Cookeville will be good this year. Even without Angel.

I agree with everything but 2013 TC was one of their top teams. 91,97,2009 teams were better off the top of my head. Cookeville will be good but not compared to the top 10 6a teams. Edited by UpperCumberlandMan

    • Sorry Barn. I wasn’t specific enough. It seems I’m always protecting the principal at 825. My interactions with her have been extremely positive, but very limited. With all the other stories being told, I’m confident there are other sides I am not aware of. Regardless, there are lots of decent people earning good checks up there. Maybe too good, which explains why no one is willing to speak up. My beef is with the poor communication among the athletic programs and with the administration. Seven years ago the poor communication led to my son missing graduation due to a sporting event that was planned months before. I chalked it up to the system being totally shocked that the baseball team made it out of their district, and our then AD was a football coach. Maybe they were surprised and did not plan appropriately. That was more palatable than they just didn’t give a crap. Déjà vu, seven years later, same thing. Different administration, but same result.  Maybe in seven more years, it will actually be “about the kids”. They should do better.
    • That's a fair line. But if it's not over, that's a big problem.
    • RR, you think that changes this year, or at least improves? I know they had a couple of talented young receivers last year that made some plays later in the year. Defensive back was a struggle against any team that was above average at throwing the ball.
    • You would think they got a bunch of interest
    • You would think with football just three months away more would be talking. There's only so much a person can say about someone allowing the field to get painted without asking their boss who would have said ((((((((  ALE NO ))))))))) or all the other BULLS#!T they've done as they lead Maryville High into the new age of WOKE in a conversative town. I'm ready for some football news without hearing something coming out of 825 that Power Munger has done to cap off the week.
