REBELRON
Maryville has had some good ones. Cade Thompson,Brent Burnett,Patton Robinette,John Garrett and any QB to play under George Quarles. Alcoa had some good ones with Randall Cobb,Michael George,Austin Tallent and Cokie Earls. Here are some great ones I saw. Brent Stockstill 2012 Siegel. Best QB I ever seen a Maryville team play against. Charlie High CAK 2011 and 2012. If not for him Alcoa wins 10 straight titles. Awesome QB. Shawn Witten 1997-98 Elizabethon. Until I saw Stockstill Witten was best QB Maryville faced. Curt Phillips 2007 Sullivan South. Gave Maryville fits in 2007. Anthony Hayes 2009 White Station. Him and Julian Burton totally destroyed Maryville in 2009 State Title game. Shane Kelly 1999 Sevier County. He carried Sevier County to the 1999 5A Title. May be the best I have seen. Edited August 2, 2014 by REBELRON
SweetScience
Shane Kelly is high on my list too Ron. Him and a WR they had that year by the name of David Youell were dang near unstoppable. Or maybe Youell played when Joey Matthews did, I can't fully remember. Either way he was an awesome WR I remember. Edited August 2, 2014 by SweetScience
kwc
Anthony Hayes 2009 White Station. Him and Julian Burton totally destroyed Maryville in 2009 State Title game. RR: I gave AH some consideration actually. I was in Nashville when Maryville played White Station in that game and I watched it on their local PBS channel. Awesome game and an awesome performance by those two guys, I agree. The only reason I didn't include him because of his throwing accuracy wasn't the greatest. I'm glad I wasn't the only person to remember him. I remember thinking to myself as I watched him run roughshod over a very capable and good Maryville defense ... "So Whitehaven isn't the only team that he has made to look foolish.". He had a knack for doing that.
OR nole
Spurrier has never recruited (correct me if I'm wrong) a Black Athletic QB to play QB... Heffner was a 6'2" dual threat QB that got the Single Wing treatment from Spurrier from my vantage point. Had he stayed at the other USC he would have ended up as a WR or FS "Alex, I'll take black quarterbacks for 600"......."who is Antwan Chiles?" http://articles.sun-sentinel.com/1992-04-05/sports/9202010539_1_antwan-chiles-coaches-terry-dean
qb#7
He played a black QB for a few games at USC when he first got there.
strongx
One more I forgot about was Price from Anderson County. He was the most exciting HS QB I have seen in person.
