As far as I have heard T-Money should be getting some major PT this season at QB. I thought he played some last season.

Thats good, APSU could be good in the conf. they play in, hopefully these coaches can make the moves to make that happen, and T-Money could be a big part of that.....

Antwone Lias signed with UK but he was after those cats, maybe. You can't for get the top 5 draft pick Dewayne Robertson. He was with Moorehead and Payne... That mid 90s run Melrose had some Stud Lineman... I mean they had some guys that went to HBCUs that were just as good as the SEC guys.

Antwoin Lias. You can't mention him and not mention the other WR on that team who terrorized DB's.

Derrik 'Woo' Woods, who signed with Alabama.

I remember watching Melrose play Kingston in 1998 for the 3A Title. Maryville was playing in the next game. I heard all this hype over David Payne. Payne was alright but DeWayne Robinson was the stud on that team. Mondre Dickerson was on that team also. Melrose 96 team was awesome. Would loved to see a game between Melrose and Brentwood Academy that year.

RR:

DP was a beast. But Dewayne Robertson was down right scary! He played NT and just dominated the interior. It became soon known that you HAD to double team him if you wanted to do ANYTHING ... and that was not a guarantee either.

Mondre Dickerson. I could see his face in my head but I couldn't put a name with it. I remember him going up to UT a DE and eating his way into a DT, LOL.

    • RR, you might remember. Didn’t someone hide the kicking shoe that game? It seems I remember we had missed a kick the week before, and we needed all the points we could get. We thought we had a better chance going for two, so $?&@$ hid the shoe after the first miss that game. No one on our sideline looked for it very hard.
    • I will never forget the 1983 Heritage vs Maryville game. I remember driving home and listening to WGAP. Can't remember the announcers name. He asked Coach Story why he kept going for 2? Story told him " Why didn't you ask Renfro that last year"
    • TSSAA will let them all go to Mase.
    • Well nothing new, the Mustangs are really talented again this coming season!  They very well could go undefeated in regular season.  We shall see what happens in postseason.  I think the path to state title game is a little clearer than years past.  I think the Stangs are going to be really good and I think the traditional teams around in 2A are not going to be as strong.  It should be a fun season!
