Gallatin 0-0 @ Springfield 1-0

Because the schedule says that they start week 1 instead of week 0. It used to be unheard of to play in 11 weeks but now it is the norm.

 

You can look at it differently. Gallatin has game film and Springfield has the game one jitters and mistakes worked out.

Does Gallatin have a choice in having their bye week in week 0?  Seems to me you would want to have a bye week later in the year to let some guys rest/heal heading into the playoffs.  Just my opinion.

I don't see that it matters. The bye week to me interrupts the flow of things. Healing up in the middle of the season is good but so is maintaining momentum.

Gallatin had their jamboree week before last and treated this past Friday as their week off.  We have had week zero games in the past, but I'm not overly fond of an off week in the middle of the season.  It does have its positives and negatives I guess.

Absolutely correct!! Good point of reference is the Summit scrimmage. They played Gallatin toe to toe and then got beat 32-0 or something close to that to Spring Hill. Gallatin has to be very aware of an improved Yellow Jacket squad. I am sure they are being reminded that last Gallatin played up there, Springfield jumped out to a 23-0 lead. Green Wave coaching staff will have those boys ready come Friday night.

I believe Gallatin surprises everyone with an easy win. The verdict is still out, but I believe the top 4-5 in 9AAA will end up being pretty good.
