My guess is this won't be the last unless the zombie apocalypse comes sometime soon.  Obviously, Alcoa isn't afraid of playing CAK and I don't think CAK is afraid of playing Alcoa.  I suspect that as long as Coach Rankin is willing, Rusty Bradley will try to schedule Alcoa as a non-district game.  CAK has in recent years had a horrible time finding enough non-district games to fill out a 10-game schedule, thus the reason for playing teams from Kentucky and going two years in a row to play 6A Lavergne.   I believe CAK views its yearly contests with Alcoa as a major reason CAK has gotten better over the years; Alcoa has given CAK a highly successful program to use as a measuring stick, based on the logic that if we can improve enough to be competitive against Alcoa then we can compete against anybody.  It will be nice not to have to go through Alcoa in the playoffs but I personally hope they can keep playing each other in a regular season game.

This could very well be the last Alcoa-CAK game. This could be an all time classic LOL

I do not see Alcoa moving up to 3A and doubt that CAK will "voluntarily" play Alcoa as a non-district game. No one is going to play Alcoa in a non-district game in and around Knoxville. Alcoa wants as many district games that they can muster. They will then add Maryville, Heritage and maybe one more.

You might be right, but I'm pretty sure you're not.  I've known Rusty Bradley for a while now and I'm serious as a heart attack--I fully expect these two teams to keep playing a season game even after the shake-up.  I know it sounds shocking that anybody would want to play Alcoa that doesn't "have to."  But Coach Bradley doesn't think the way a lot of other coaches do in that regard.

Warrior2011 nailed it. CAK gets our respect because they decided to get better to beat Alcoa instead of making excuses.

WOOT! DER IT IS! To be da man ya gotta beat da man! To improve ya gotta emulate the ones doing it the best, then try to get even better. These old adages are true indeed, timeless wisdom! Play up as much as possible, always up, with better than you teans too. Even our lil 1A Dresden Lions have been improving that way, from worst to first eventually. We haven't learned to stay on top yet, imo that's harder than getting there. But yeah, we all are stuck with our district opponents, but for outside games play the best quality.team possible. If can't in season, try for scrimmages and jamborees. In own life I got real good doing this in ping ping, boxing, chess, kicking, my grades, business, etc... finding and competing against better can only make one improve IF you do it with right attitude and purposes. Why everyone can't see this is beyond me.
